<p>Hey y’all. My name is Emmie and I’m applying for the NSLI-Y study abroad scholarship to spend a year in Russia. I’m a sophomore looking for input from past and current applicants and NSLI-Y alumini.</p>

<p>My qualifications are:</p>

<p>-G.P.A. of 4.7.
-Taken 3 A.P. classes
-French for 3 years
-Spanish for 2 years
-Russian for 1 year
-Peer tutor
-Figure Skater
-Plays Guitar and piano
-Costumes for school musicals
-Member of Sequential Arts Club
-President of an international Pen-Pal club
-Duke Tip scholar
-Hosted exchange students from Brazil and France</p>

<p>I hope to serve with the State Department as an F.S.O after graduating college.
(I’m taking my Junior credits as a sophomore so I won’t be behind after returning in 2016.)</p>

<p>Oh my gosh!!! You are a figure skater too?! I didn’t apply for Russia but I applied for summer in Korea and also to study Arabic!! Good luck with your application though and hopefully you’ll be accepted :smile: </p>
