Is it true that all Engineering students get 24/7 access to the labs and research centers? Is this a distinguishing characteristic of NU, or do most schools allow this?

Thanks!

Wow if that’s true, NU has def. gained bonus points. I love working in labs, and, when I did ChemE research, I realized 24/7 access to labs is an important asset for labs that take onwards of 16 HOURS (not an exaggeration - I actually had to run a test that was 22 hours once). Please! Will someone confirm this!

I’m sure that, as with most universities, professors will grant you access to their lab (like give you the actual key) if the test you have to does, in fact, necessitate after-hours then probably yes.
It probably applies to most students, not only engineering.

You will be given an access code to the lab of whoever you do your research with. Yes, it’d be 24/7 access. That’s nothing special. Each engineering department has its own computer lab; I know some chemEs spend a lot of time in theirs like a second home.
