i know some other schools create their own GPAs in the admissions process as every high school has their own method of conducting the average. If anyone knows about a NU GPA and how/if it is produced, that would be great.

In each class you get a letter grade, up to A (no A+). GPA is out of 4.0. Each class counts as one credit (no credit hours or anything like that); an A is a 4.0, an A- is a 3.7, and so on. GPA = average of all 4 (or 3 or 5, depending on how many classes you take per quarter) grades. You get quarterly GPAs and an overall GPA.

i appreciate your help, but my question was regarding high school GPA and whether or not the admissions office calculates GPA with their own method as opposed to that of one’s high school’s. i apologize for my ambiguity.

There’s no “NU GPA” (like the UC GPA the UCs use if that’s what you’re sort of referring to).

Your high school transcript will either explain or have an accompanying letter that explains how your GPA is calculated, and the classes that are weighted, &c.

ok, thanks.
