NU or NW or even NWU?

What is Northwestern’s abbreviation? I thought it was NU but have seen NW and I think NWU… I thought it was established that NU was Northwestern (and not Northeastern University, aka NEU)…</p>

<p>It’s just NU. That’s what students use.</p>

<p>It’s NU… but for a few years NWU would get you to the Northwestern website. If you go to google and search for ‘nwu.edu’, it should give Northwestern as the first result.</p>

<p>While it is NU, most sports journalists still refer to NU as NW, and instead, refer to the U of Nebraska as NU (instead of as UoN) - go figure.</p>
