SO I am a posse semi finalist and my top partner school is Pomona BUT I am still thinking of doing early decision with NU…The posse scholarship program provides a full ride but its an early decision program. Any viewpoints/feedback would be greatly appreciated…ALSO I am also a quest bridge finalist (but didn’t rank colleges).
My stats:
ACT 25
UW 3.8 ; W 4.46
RANK 9/384
Debate team 3rd year also captain
national honor society
math team

do i have a better shot at Pomona with posse or NU with Questbridge?

I don’t know anything about the programs you mentioned, but in general, I would say Pomona is quite test score conscious. My son plays a sport where virtually every member of the team has 2250+ SAT scores, with many in the 2300+ range. I am not sure if that is helpful or not.

For what it’s worth, one of D’s best friends got in to Pomona with rather “meh” test scores this year, while another close friend was not admitted to NU with FAR better scores, so I’d think either school may be a reach but possible. Pomona is tiny (1,500 versus 8,000), so of course their admissions percentage is lower (15% versus 18% for NU last year), but test scores are comparable (ACT 31-34 at both schools, SAT not statistically different).

I know NU is committed to diversity, but am not sure about Pomona in that regard.

I also know nothing about the two scholarship programs you mentioned, but could you apply apply ED to NU and EA to Pomona (you would have to choose NU if admitted under binding ED) if you are equally interested in both?
