NU Vs. Dartmouth Vs. WUSTL Vs. JHU

here is my final college list:

Dartmouth (Less than 12K)
Brown (No PLME)
Northwestern (Fin-aid Pending)
WUSTL (Full-ride)
JHU (No Financial Aid)
Emory
Notre Dame
Vanderbilt
UC Berkeley
UCLA (about 20K)

My intended major is Biology or Economics. I am a pre-med student but I may change my mind to go to business or Law school. I still want to have an amazing pre-med program at college.

Hard to turn down a full ride at WUSTL

How did you get full-ride from WashU but nothing from JHU? Is that merit-based scholarship? If so, I doubt NU is going to give you anything close to WashU’s offer. I’d pick WashU in this case.

Sam - Dartmouth is listed at less than 12K - presume need based, don’t believe they offer any merit.

Hopkins is neither need blind nor guarantees to meet 100% demonstrated need - possibly explaining disparity with Dartmouth. Other possibility - are you international, Humboldt?

Link to colleges that guarantee to meet 100% of demonstrated need (no Hopkins):

Humboldt: What are you looking for in location, campus life?
Dartmouth is a very different place compared with your other choices.

Dartmouth and most of the school listed are need-based. I got full merit aid from other schools such as Wake Forest, William and Mary, etc. I did not get any aid offer from JHU, because I did not apply for it by the time I applied for the admission.

For me,
-I like to live near a big city, such as NYC, Boston, Chicago, LA, etc. I know Dartmouth is an ivy league school (especially its undergrad school and Tuck School of Business) and one of the very best schools in the United States. However, I prefer to live in a matropolitan area.
-Money is an issue.
-Prestige: I want to have a VERY nice job/internship at a great institutions, such as Harvard Medical School, Goldman Sachs, Samsung, etc. I personally looked up their CEO list, a lot of them are from Harvard, Dartmouth, Yale, Princeton, and sometimes Northwestern, JHU, WUSTL.

Wash U for sure! But then again, I would pick Wash over just about any school (sorry NU). Unfortunately I got waitlisted. Anyways, Wash U has an amazing medical school - ranked #3 according to U.S. News. You would get a top-notch but highly competetive pre-med program there. Plus, if you’re planning on going to med school you’ll want to avoid as much undergrad debt as possible and Wash U seems to be your cheapest option. You also said you wanted to live buy a city and St.Louis is a great city, albiet not as glamorous as some of the one’s you mentioned. From my point of view, your choice is easy, but no matter what make sure you go somewhere where you know you’ll be happy

Northwestern has the best combination to cover all five possibilities (and the best metropolitan area, Chicago, to boot):
Biology, Economics, pre-med, business or Law school

And one of the best shared internship programs (iNET) in the country with the consortium of 8 schools shared internships (as well as NU’s own private one) Northwestern, Georgetown University, New York University, MIT, University of Pennsylvania, Rice University, Stanford University and Yale University.

I also got into NYU DDS Program as a honor and scholarship student.

i don’t see how this is a hard decision. WashU for free is greater than all of these other options combined.
