Number of available slots in an engineering program.

My schools expansion to the engineering program will now allow 600 students. That’s what I read earlier.

What happens if/when that 600 mark is reached? How do they choose who to admit? I’m a transfer from a CC. Will I be considered first or last? Is 600 even a number to worry about?

I’ve always just assumed if I wanted to major in engineering, then I’d be able to major in engineering and there wouldn’t be MUCH that could stop me.

If there are more transfer applicants than there are slots available for transfer admissions, then they will admit the “best” applicants by whatever criteria they use (typically courses and grades at the current college). So do the best you can in your courses.
