Number oriented admissions at UNC?

As a state school, is UNC more (meaning relatively) numbers oriented than other schools of its caliber? I.E. I’m from GA, and I know that UGA is very, very numbers oriented. I have a 93.8 unadjusted, all honors, and a 1510 and that would automatically get me into UGA. How much is that the case with UNC? Doesn’t it have to operate that way, to a certain extent, sheerly because it is a public institution? Is the honors program more numbers based than the general admissions?

That’s not the case at all with UNC. They look at applications holistically; you need to have good numbers, no doubt, but you also need good essays and recs.
