Numbers?

<p>Which “student” would be more likely to be accepted?</p>

<p>GPA - 4.0 UW
Rank - top 5%
SAT - 1400+
ECs - Maybe one sport, NHS, and a few church volunteer hours.
Good Essay</p>

<p>GPA - 3.0 UW
Rank - top 25%
SAT - 1100
ECs - Stellar… lots of leadership and devotion

<p>Basically, is the acceptance based more on numbers or on other things?</p>

<p>I would venture to say the student with better number is far more likely to be accepted, but the other student has a shot too.</p>

<p>I think GW is making an effort to improve their profile, and they are also getting many qualified applicants-I think the first student would get in but 1100 is pretty low, so I think the second student would not…</p>

<p>It’s all about numbers…“ties” go to things like great essays, many ECs…</p>
