Nursing (BSN) Admits Fall 2026 - Class of 2030

The nursing decision threads from prior years have been a huge help to me, so I wanted to start one for this year’s applicants. I know a few of us have received Pitt acceptances already. Please feel free to add your list, application status, decisions, scholarships, and visit impressions.

Good luck!

Here is where we are so far:

Pitt (applied 8/16, app complete 8/19, admitted 9/22 + guaranteed admission to DNP or PhD)

Iowa (applied 8/16 and accepted 9/9 to the University – nursing supplement due 12/11)

Marquette (applied, pending)

Tennessee (applied, pending)

There are about 5-7 more nursing schools on my D’s “to do” list – BC, Case Western, Michigan, USF-CA, Creighton (?), U Miami (?), and TCU (?) – plus a couple of pre-nursing or non-nursing schools close to home – UIUC and UW-Madison.

The Pitt acceptance yesterday was huge. We visited last summer and she really liked it. She prefers an urban campus with nearby clinicals, which definitely describes Pitt. As a result, she was able to remove several schools that she knew she liked less.

If you don’t mind me asking, what were your D’s stats?

Our common app is complete with all essays, etc. we have about 18 schools we are applying to. Just waiting on this Fridays SAT results to come out and make sure he didn’t/did score better so that we can submit scores with our “reaches”

Sure, happy to share.

ACT 33 (35 science/35 math), SAT superscore 1410 (710 R/700 M) – for Pitt she self-reported both scores but only sent the official ACT

UW GPA 3.79 / W GPA 4.98

9 AP classes (AP Lang-5, AP Comp Sci Principles-5, APUSH-4, AP World-4, AP HUG-4, AP Physics-3, currently taking AP Bio, AP Govt, AP Calc AB). Dual enrollment in Physics, Bio, Anatomy & Physiology, and English 101/111. [FYI: Her AP Physics and AP Bio are both AP and dual enrollment; she did not report the 3 in AP Physics to Pitt.]

Hospital volunteer, varsity athlete, a few other clubs with leadership roles – but honestly, pretty average overall in the EC arena.

My daughter’s list is:

Applied EA: Fairfield U, Sacred Heart, Providence, Salve Regina, Southern CT State University, UCONN, Quinnipiac, Monmouth

Almost Ready: Endicott, Pace

Maybe will add 1-2 more? Our school sends their transcripts, letters, etc in waves (ie they are finishing up 10/15 apps and will move to 11/1 soon) so nothing is done on that end yet.

Sounds like you are in a pretty good spot – now just waiting! Keep us posted.

My D will get USF-CA and Creighton out today, I think. Both of those supplemental essays are done, she said, but asked if I could read tonight for typos before she hits submit.

Happy to have found this group! My daughter has applied to 16 schools, mostly DA. She’s done with supplementals - waiting on the dual/direct one for the University of Kentucky. It’s been a busy couple of months!
