wait yo arctic you reallly bombed the writing section?

was it because u knew it didnt matter so u didnt care enough?

in any event, NYC applicant here, still awaiting my decision.
because it hasnt come yet and I’m not some superstar scholarship contender, it probably means a rejection

im wont be surprised–no, never surprised

^ Wait what? I got a 730 on the writing section, Math IIC refers to the SAT II

oh I thought presidential scholar nominees had 1600s CR + M?

or am i thinking of something else?

Nope, Plenty of people with non-perfect CR+M scores got nominated. It’s per school, so each school picks who they nominate iirc.

There are many candidates who apply to SC from the NY/New England region. After California Texas sends the most U.S. students to SC. New York and New Jersey are in the top five states who have students enroll after California.

If you check out the Facebook USC Class of 2014-Official students have mentioned their high schools. One student who intends to enroll is from St. Paul’s. Keep in mind the students who post here are only a very tiny segment of applicants, well over 35,500+.

wait Arctic do you go to Stuy?

and I still remember presidential scholarship qualifiers had to be in the top 20(raw number wise) of boys and girls on the SAT or ACT–and ties

basically, 790 in both or bust.
also NY is full with high scorers so im pretty sure NY’s standard was 800 in both.

That being said, was the USC scholarship something different? Or is it just another scholarship, perhaps inhouse, that happens to share a name?

^ Yessir.

And I don’t think that’s the qualifications needed to be a scholarship nominee. AFAIK, each school gets a certain amount of scholarships they can nominate students for, and they pick who to nominate. The architecture and Roski fine arts schools probably didn’t pick based solely on grades, so I don’t think the top 20 requirements are for the scholarships from USC.

I think you two are talking about two different things - Arctic92 was nominated for the USC Presidential Scholarship, which is a one-half tuition (approx $20,000/year) scholarship to USC. antonioray might be taking about the non-school specific “Presidential Scholarship” based on top SAT/ACT scores nationwide, which is a non-monetary award.

^ haha that might explain it, alamemom to the rescue again :P
