First strike in 25 years…what a mess. I feel for all of the New Yorkers in the cold weather and at the holiday season.

Yeah, the city loses a lot of money too.
Eh, I’m staying home to work on apps.

The same situation is in Macedonia… At 6AM there are workers
in front of the building next to the school where i’m studying.
They are standing out in a temperature of -10 celsius degrees!

This reminds me of the rap song the message (which talked about the last NYC transit strike) “Can’t take a train to my job there’s a strike at the station…”

i like it, my spanish test is postponed

BOOYAH

wait, how long is this going to last?

If this strike goes beyond Wednesday, I would be shocked. Bloomberg is not an idiot, he will end this BS quickly.

My cousins live in uptown NYC and have no car, and their school is all the way downtown
looks like one indefinetely long vacation for them

I didn’t go to school today, but I’m biking tomorrow. I live 90 blocks from school…it’s going to suck. Princessbell, I’m guessing your cousins go to Stuy? My neighbor goes there and skipped school, even though we live downtown…ha. It’s a pain, idiotic MTA…

Hahahaha yeah joev Bloomberg is ****ed. He didn’t even hide it at his press conference. I need to buy xmas presents and its impossible to get a cab, so I guess I’m gonna need to whip out my old bike. Should be quite an experience. I doubt they’ll strike for much longer considering the TWU is ordered to pay $1 million a day each day they strike… yikes!

im loving this strike, I can wake up 9:30 and get to school at 10 and leave at 1:30 as usual :)

Where do they get $1 million from? Why not $750,00? Oh well, a million is pennies for Bloomberg.

no, my cousins don’t go to stuyvesant. they aren’t that smart. jk, they’re still in ms.

Wow. I walked from chinatown to Columbus Circle yesterday. Yup, what a walk. It was REALLY cold and far. But now I learnt a new path. I can just walk to WTC, take the PATH Train to 34th street, and walk to school. That way is much EASIER!!!

good for you lil_killer!

as for the strikers, they’d better have service up and running next week. im supposed to meet up with alot of my college friends in nyc!! there’ll be hell to pay if i cant.

i definitely think that nyc should have had a backup labor force in place to replace the strikers. i mean they are all committing crimes. it would make sense that they all lose their jobs and are fined. what they are doing hurts not only the city and national economy, but people who need to get to hospitals, who need to do dialysis…chemo…etc, and people like me who need to shop. the only positive is that nyc city schools that never ever have snow days, have some time off.

i just feel sorry for the homeless kids that have to stay out in the freezing weather :(

I feel sorry for the people on crutches. How’s that for ouch.

man its (supposedly) over
crud
well now i can sell my t-shirts

I Survived the NYC Transit Strike '05!
:D
