I once taught a college seminar on neurodegeneration. For every disease topic, I made sure to include (auto)biographical accounts of people living with those conditions.
So I really enjoyed reading this. You might consider checking out the accounts of Gerda Saunders https://www.gerdasaunders.com, and Rev. Tracey Lind, who have chronicled their own experiences of living with dementia.
It was a fascinating perspective and i’m glad there was a fix of draining the excess fluid that seemed to work. I have a friend who has a brain shunt and developed “normal hydroceohalis” late in left (late 70s). It’s affected her balance and can give her constant headaches and the shunt can fail or need adjustment. It’s just one of many things she’s had to adapt to.
