My family gets a kick out of these articles.

This is a photo of the first known diamond studded corset, in fact Victoria’s Secret had to change some of their wording on a diamond studded corset as they claimed it was the first…1/12/1950 - New York, NY- Jean Desmond models a Foundation Diamond corset, at the dedication of the Roth Creations-Royal Worcester “Cavalcade of Corsetry” museum at the 39 West 34th Street.

The model had 4 armed security guards around her at all times as she modeled. She joked with them about what they might tell their wives when asked how their day went.

How do I know all this? Because the model is my very own grandmother! She was a highly sought after “underfashions” model in the 40s and 50s. It was “her” breasts that showcased bras for years and years and years in department stores (when I was little I used to tell people “that’s my grandma” in stores) - she was even on What’s My Line as a “girdle tester” - she began her modeling career at 17. She would be delighted that this is a topic of conversation today!
