Hello, Im from argentina and I still received no letter at all… nor rejection nor invitation to CW, I have mailes the admissions NYUAD office 2 days ago, but have still received no response… would you suggest me to cal the university? because Im really dying… tension, nausea all that stuff… Im literally risking my life with this admission lol… Thursday has ended in UAE and people do not work in Fridays nor saturdays… so I guess I ll wait for sunday to call…Any of the Ed 2 applicants invited recently received an invitation for mid february?.. actually the NYUAD webpage says that according to ED2 your veredict should be ready for Febraury 28… it does not sound impossible that some of us get invited to mid-february… btw the way a latin american representative, probably the same one mentioned before, told me that invitations need to be sent at least to weeks prior to the CW due to paperwork…but she also told I should wait for early dfebruary to jump into conclusions because she said we could be invited to the february CW… has anyone made further calls related to the issue? and any information about the batches and the respective region/dates?..Has anyone actually received a rejection letter??? thanks for all the great help… If anyone is form Latin America please let me know…

I was looking forward to joining the school, too. I can’t believe all my teachers lowered my grades this year (because they wanted me to “work harder” since they hated how I was getting an above average mark without doing the conventional/systematical homeworks). I find it extremely annoying and ahsdkjash
But still, it was nice knowing you all.

@endofjuly That is something that participants of every candidate weekend, so far, had to bring. It’s only a guess that we’ll have to bring the same thing that is meaningful to us… But eitherways, they’ll let us know everything a week before our departure (at least that’s what was written in our CW invites). No need to worry about that. :)

ahhh, and I forgot to ask… which actually is the telephone you are calling as to find out if your application has already been rejected

NYUAD told that rejection letters for EDII will be sent only in mid Feb

Thanks Jasmina95! I’m nervous, CW is supposed to be fun, yet challenging, and I just don’t want to dissappoint them. I’ve got got to pull up my confience pants!

right what do you guys reckon they’re gonna ask in them personal conversations?? x

No idea, and I’ve been scouring the web for what the ‘challenging’ part of CW is, but I haven’t found much. Any ideas, stories previous CWers? Where are you from hsawok?

@hsawok From what I’ve heard and read, these personal “interviews” (many people I spoke with didn’t even consider them as such) are very informal in nature, and are a part of an overall evaluation to assess your suitability for NYU Abu Dhabi. Just my two cents, but I would imagine they’re looking for eloquence, confidence, and the aura of a cosmopolitan outlook from an applicant.

@endofjuly I don’t think there’s going to be one particularly challenging part of Candidate Weekend. It’s three days of fun, sun, and a lot of work, from what I’ve been told by people who went to the EDI CW. There’s going to be, as @hsawok mentioned, a conversation with a member of the NYUAD faculty, a reflective writing assignment, and sample classes. Where are you from?

Me, personally, I’m reviewing my application, going over a few speaking points, but all in all, I’m trying my best to be very organic throughout the process - I don’t want to come off as manufactured. What do you guys think?

great strategy Bill :)

Endofjuly, I’m a British Libyan living in Al Ain You? x

@hsawok: OMG! I’m Indian, and I live in Al Ain as well!
@francaiselove: that’s the thing, what’s the work bit constitute of?

Oh what school do you go to??

Hi everyone,

@hsawok Thanks, Sarah. x

@endofjuly Well I’m guessing the writing assignment isn’t exactly the easiest task - I’m not really sure myself. But as a wise man once said, relax? :p

Congratulations, Quan! It’s always great hearing from fellow NYUAD applicants. Welcome!

Congrats Quan Looking forward to meeting you too x

Francaiselove and hsawok, hey thanks ! I am look forward to meeting you guys too : )
