NYU Abu Dhabi

Anyone applying RD- can you post on here if you get invited to CW? I heard something about those of us who did get nominated will hear before the application deadline of Jan 1. This might be totally untrue, but it does also make sense that nominated kids get to hear before others. Please post!

Is there anyone who has been invited to CW and didn’t include SAT scores in their application? I was just wondering cause I know the SAT is not a requirement for NYUAD (if you are doing IB) but they certainly look at scores if you send them and have a general SAT range on their website. My results leave much to be desired due to lack of preparation, so I was thinking of not sending them at all, just focus on my CV which is great and all about leadership and globalism and what not, and also good predicted grades (39-40 from 42 - not including the 3 points you get from the TOK and extended essay). I’d like to think I have a shot without the SAT, but ugh, I’m not sure.

I think your IB scores are great. Plus I hear scores aren’t a big part of what they’re looking for, so it shouldn’t be a problem.

Heyy guyz its frustrating how this thread have been dead in early decision 1 . I was a member of this awesome group in early decision 1 this year…came back from vandidate weekend a week ago . IT WAS AWESOME…I did spend alot of time with admission office so I would be glad to help any of u if u have any questions (well I ll try to) …wishing everyone best of luck !

@Aboul3ata
Could you please write some more about the CW? What kind of questions did they (the admission office) ask? How is the weather this time of the year over there?

Well the weather is hot …but not extremely hot. I would suggest you take some formal or semi formal outfit for the last day dinner. The questions are super general they are more of conversation …so no need to worry about it . From my experience everything you do is taken notes of…and they asses you as a whole because everyone there is smart so they would want to see if you can fit into this diverse student body. I suggest just be cool…act yourself …socialize and emjoy THE BEST WEEKEND OF YOUR LIFE.

When did you find out you were accepted to candidate weekend? Roughly how many Americans were there?

Two weeks in advance amd some even later…well I am not sure there were all kinds of nationalities but like 5-10 I would say

Hello,
Were there any photos taken during the Candidate Weekend that we can view online? Please share the links, anyone :)

How many weeks before candidate weekend will I find out? (Applied ED2)

Does anyone know if NYUAD accepts Jan subject test scores?

Submitted my app yesterday. Good luck to everyone applying RD!

I’m seriously looking to apply to this school, and am just wondering if anyone can tell me about the party life there? I know it’s kind of a lame question to ask considering what the school offers, but I’m interested. Is drinking common? Are there clubs to go to in Abu Dhabi or even Dubai?

@Enollz

Yes, that’s a lame question.

hi guys - quick question -anyone know how the curves like at NYUAD? Are A’s accessible/easy/tough/brutal there?
