Hey guys! I was also invited to the candidate weekend! If anyone wants to contact me and wants a friend or something beforehand then just message me! Im an American student studying in Atlanta, Georgia

When did you receive your invitation?

I’m an international student from Macedonia and I got invited to the upcoming CW a while ago, so I guess the purpose of this post is to just say hi and I look forward to seeing you all Feel free to message me
Ana

Hey everyone,

I am an international student from UK and I got invited to the 13th-16th CW. Any one else invited to the same date too?
btw what will we be doing during the weekend apart from exploring the college and Abu Dhabi? how will we be assessed? Is it just the interview or more than that?

If any one want to get in touch before we go there, feel free to contact me.

^ sir, I too have been invited to the same weekend as you It’ll be great interacting with people from around the world. Oh, and I am from Pakistan. Just going to add a little bit to @Nromnepa : How great is one’s chance of being accepted to NYU AD after being called for the candidate weekend? I suspect that no university will pay to invite a prospective student unless it is very inclined towards accepting that individual. Is this view of mine correct?

Hey @Altolime, from what I have gathered they take around 350 to 400 students(in total) for candidate weekend and about 150-200 students get selected. But I am not sure about the numbers. It’s somewhere around there.

Regarding the Interwiew, will we be assessed on our academic strength? Here in UK we have academic interviews but I know the US universities just ask general questions about your life and ambitions, But what about Abu Dhabi. If they are paying to get us there then they may not make sure that we know what our teachers have written about us.

Hi,
I also got the invitation for the same round (the last one, I guess). I am from Indonesia. I heard from last year’s student that in the CW I should prepare myself to be surprised meeting all amazing people from around the world, with their fantastic resumes and activities. Now, just hoping to get to know you well before the departure, guys because I am a little bit awkward and shy to meet new people for the first time.

^ well, sir/madam, it’ll be an honor to get to know you better I’m Altamash, a Pakistani lad who loves English and languages in general. I’ve done a host of odd things during my life, that have all ended up on my resume, but at the core, I believe that I am a person who appreciates beauty in everything: appearance, character, ability, talent, architecture and even junk! I hail from a family of artists and am the only one in the family who isn’t going to an art school (no artistic talent) :P

I’m Alief. My passions are writing, researching, and teaching. My writing at commonapp was primarily about my community which works to fight young people-discrimantion. I am going to a tiny boarding school here; I found out that NYUAD will be a perfect place for me. I am not really an outgoing person as I stated above, so I am gaining the confident to meet the amazing people like you. Well, as I am new member at the CC, how could I possibly reach you?

@aliefmoulana facebook seems like a nice option that you appear to have already seized =P

now that candidate weekend is over, I’m waiting anxiously for the decisions =P hope the result is favorable!

Haha, this thread is half a year old!! Are there any accepted students from the CBSE India Board?

Hey guys my name is Mike. I am half Georgian half Belarus born in Syria. I am applying to NYUAD ED I. I am very worried can you people help me out? My GPA past 4 years is 4.0. I take all classes starting from English ending with Economics and Politics. My schools curriculum is Cambridge A-Levels. In 6 days I will take my very first SAT! I had only 1 month to prepare because NYUAD popped up as the best university for me at a very late moment :\ My TOEFL scores arent bad 106/120. I am worried about the SAT what can I do to improve my score in these six days? CR:650 WR:700 M:720. But you know stress plays its own part. :\ I speak 5 languages and currently am learning 2 more. I speak, write, read fluently and not only but I have certificates in (Arabic, English Georgian Russian and French). The 2 current languages are Hebrew and Turkish. I participated in the IYIPO Olympiad and won couple of times. I created a robot plus an android application. I want to pursue Political Science. SO what are my chances? By the way, I am being nominated for the NYUAD nomination from my school counselor. One of the regional representatives has paid a visit 2 months ago and met with me. Well she was thrilled
Thanks in advance,

P.S. If I won’t manage getting a score above 2000 in SAT. Should I retake in November? or send what I have?
