@Kiwikid — man, I agree, the feeling that you’ve spending days without school after graduating is epic! :D

this thread has been actually pretty helpful…i also applied for ED I and gosh it has been a really complicated process since I live in Colombia, and sending all my papers with my IB mock scores took me a longwhile as teachers took a lot of time to give my mock scores and the fedex service here isnt the best…

I was already losing hope on being invited but now they are high again as i passed over the december candidate weekend…:D:D:D

what does “passed over” mean? Will we be meeting each other come December?

@KiwiKid, by the term “passed over” i meant that i completely forgot about the candidate weekend in december…i was just thinking there was only the november CW for those who applied for EDI…i didnt think it was going to be that stressful…but hopefully with the help of my schools counsellor and the latin american outreach staff i was able to sort everything out…i know my stats are not the best one but i do hope i impressed them with my essay, project and who knows maybe my extracurricular activities

idk if they are going to invite me yet…i hope they will…i guess im pretty late to this thread but were you already accepted for the december cw?

hey caro, do not worry about it!

the outreach staff of Asia told me that …‘from what she knows’, they have not actually ‘fully’ started sending out the invitations for dec. cw. (though one of my friends has got one.btw he was not nominated by his school nor submitted the application that early. but…anyway there’s hope’.) she told us to wait nd wait nd wait nd be patient…well.hope that works. =D

Good luck to every one here!

Hey guys, I just thought I’d let you know…
When you get invited to a CW, youre given access to a Candidate Portal. You have to upload documents and stuff related to travelling to Abu Dhabi. The deadline for all that stuff is due tomorrow. I dont know if that deadline was just for me or not… but it could mean that if an invite hasn’t been sent yet, it might not be sent?
I’m totally not sure though so there might still be hope!
good luck!

nyuadhopeful,
well, thanks for such a wonderful information… I’m pretty sure the deadline’s only for you.

elithefair…have u received the invitation ? =D

Reconquista, nope. BUT I am not even thinking of giving up waiting for it. First, it’s still a month till the CW. Second, I wrote them an e-mail yesterday asking them if they received my TOEFL score (the TOEFL box isn’t checked in my NYUHome profile), they responded me that I should check again at the end of this week. Would they have responded me like this if they had already got all the invitations sent? I do not think so.
So cheer up everyone, we’re all gonna get it! :)

elithefair~

the financial aid office has told me that my CSS form is confirmed. Think that it is a good omen. I am also waiting, waiting even for the slightest hope.

btw…in which city do you live in Russia then? St. petersburg ? moscow?

Reconquista, good!
Everyone knows only St.Petersburg and Moscow No, I’m from Ufa. What about you?

@ ELI

UFA is quite near mid Asia isnt it? =D
Another russian city that I know very well is vladivostok… (cuz it has also a very chinese name!)

I‘m from Shanghai…(a jungle with bunches of steel and concrete)

Reconquista, yes, it’s kind of right between Europe and Asia.
As for Vladivostok, I think it’s a Russian name, since “Vlad” is a Russian male name, and “vostok” means “east” in Russian.
Shanghai? That’s nice. It must be really big :)

@elithefair

actually I mean that…people in northern china call voladivostok ‘hai shen wai’.
maybe it’s located quite close to China so people created a name for it. =D

well…I’d rather choose to live in Tibet. LOL…enough room for me there…

Reconquista, oh, okay, I see what you meant by “Chinese name” It is located very close to China.
Tibet? wow:) You’re welcome to visit :)

lol i don’t know if that was meant to be sarcastic or not… just trying to help.
but elithefair i saw your stats and they looked pretty good, plus you speak lots of languages so I’m sure that you’ll be considered especially if you wrote good essays and that project thing! Hopefully we will all see each other in December!!

nyuadhopeful, well, I didn’t really try to make it sarcastic, it just came out this way… You know, we all here pray for the dream come true, and the things like “the deadline is tomorrow” are just terribly scary. Well, at least for me… Anyways, I am sorry if it sounded sarcastic.
As for the stats, TOEFL 91 and ACT 24 do not seem very good for me, but I really do hope extracurriculars, languages, essays are impressive enough :)

I’m a new one on this forum, I’m also applying for NYUAD with ED-2.
Have taken SAT 2 - Math level2 and level 1(in order to have more time in the end =) and the results will be in 7 days.
In 4th december i’m taking IELTS, with these scores I’m going to have a try…
By the way, I’ve read previous posts, I see that much more clever and active people are here who are applying NUYAD, thats really cool, I hope to meet these people and be a friend to them =)

@NewYorkUAD – Hey there, even I’m applying ED-2 to NYUAD. So you’re only giving your SAT 2s and IELTS? Mind if you can list your stats please? :)

@NeyYorkUAD: I too would kindly like to request you to list down your stats. Besides, where are u from?..ur country?
