@VodkaRain – yes, there is a fb group invite, you’ll get it sometime before your CW date. if you use a different name, it really doesn’t matter, they’ll find you by your email and they’ll tell you all necessary details regarding the FB group so don’t worry abt it.

@nickmilleradore – Didn’t wrote this above so congrats to you as well :)

Congratulations Dzhannet - may I ask how you heard of the school? My son is there in his freshman year and he loves it. The variety of international students is amazing - but I have yet to hear of someone from Khazakstan.

Hey abudhabi-mama – I’d like to know where r u from ? and what is your son’s major? and did he receive full ride or just partial financial aid ? :)

We are in Florida - his major is Theater and he received a full ride. He applied EDI at NYU Tisch - was accepted and then offered NYUAD - good luck to you!

Hey, I just logged into Albert to check my application status (because I finally realized that could be done ^^) and it doesn’t have a check mark next to the high school transcript part. I had my counselor upload the transcripts on the common application page. Should I email the school and ask them if they received the transcripts or?? Does anybody else have this problem?

Asha18117, my albert says the same) i sent my transcripts by mail on the 29th of December but they haven’t arrived yet because of unfavorable weather conditions, but albert also says this: Please be aware that while items may be in our office, it may take several weeks before credentials are actually processed and reflected on this checklist. so that may be the case with your transcripts)

nickmilleradore, congrats!!! look forward to seeing you there!!

abudhabi-mama, thank you very much) I heard about it during the republic olympiad i took part in last spring) there was a guy who got in NYUAD and everybody was talking about him))

VodkaRain, where are you from?

@mutazar - I am from Thailand. Really hope to see you guys there… =)
@nickmilleradore - congrats! Look forward to meeting you!

I hail from Canada, more specifically the part of country where it rains pretty much most of the year. I could definitely use some Arabian sun in my life…

truly international! How exciting!

Hi congrats to all who got invited to the CW!!! I am really excited after reading your posts!! I am going to apply this year, probably for ED1, coz NYUAD is my dream school~:) Can anyone kindly tell me how high should I score for SAT? Thx:)

me and my friend from Indonesia applied together for ED2 and we both got the CW invitation at the same time
@murtaza101 @VodkaRain @wingzz @Dzhannet Thank You! I hope I’m going to see you all soon! and hopefully NYU would be a good start of our friendship :)

@nickmilladore - may I ask whether you studied in Singapore?

@wingzz oh no I did not study in singapore You might mistaken me with someone else.

@Clordia, I know people who were accepted with 2200 SATs, and I know people accepted with 2300+ SATs, but to be honest, that will not be a deal breaker/maker. They want extracurricular successes (well… all top-tier colleges do) and more importantly, the international pioneering spirit! They also want the ability to critically think - which CAN be shown by the SAT, but will also be shown by (for example) doing research outside of school, or entering (excelling in) external competitions e.g. maths/robotics.

Mind you, if you’re majoring in the humanities then you will not need that as much; instead, you will need to show you are an active contributor to your community and will be bringing this with you if accepted!

And congrats to all those going to the CW!!! you will have a blast, honestly, (as long as your luggage isn’t lost…) and it will really open your eyes.

Thx!!!That’s very important info for me. Actually today I just finished my SAT exam n I am a bit worried about my CR, which is always not good enough. I am now under the Alevel curriculum. I’ve read your former threads, that we could submit alvl results as well. So if my SAT result is not so good, I am planning to submit my Alvl results solely…
To be honest my academic results are quite ok but I am not like some really smart people who can get Gold award for International Math Olympic Competition etc. So I always think my academic achievement does not add advantages to my application. But instead, as you said, I have joined various activities outside school and volunteered myself for many community services. And I am quite confident to to have international spirit cause I left my homeland and began to study overseas when I was 14, so far I have travelled to many countries and knew many friends from different places(That’s why I LOVE NYUAD becuase of its cosmopolitanism).
BTW, I am not going to do science in the uni, my interests are arts and econs.

@wingzz I do study in Singapore now.:)

@clorida I also did the SAT today, so what did u do? was it hard or cool? :)

@Bana93 unfortunately I had 4 CR sections which frightened me…because my CR is weak…and from the sample practices I took at home, the score would always give me a heart attack even though I felt I had done quite ok…

I won’t comment on SATs but all I’ll say is: do the best in any attempt and don’t worry about your scores, worry about yourself in the application whether if your app is balanced or not.
