@ahaddad === you should get an invitation to candidate weekend first. As it is written in off site, participation in CW is required for admission to NYUAD.

helloo … did anyone got facebook invitation to the CW group?

I got just now.

FB group rulezZz

Applicants to NYUAD almost doubled (from 708 to 1184 this year) while the fall was in % of applicants to NYU@NYC who displayed an interest in NYUAD also. This is nice!

In any case a University where the international crowd is not confined to 5 or even 10 % ( as with most Univs in the US) is bound to be producing graduates who will eventually be comfortable anywhere in the world, have an edge of others given the diversity the class & the campus hops provided. Its truly a unique education that awaits NYUAD students.

With ABu DHabi’s blank cheque policies the Univ will also be equipped with the best Profs & Equipment research money can buy !! I envy the kids who will get in and graduate from there!

all the best for those applying there !

thanx nrousep!
3 days to go!
sooo excited!!!

I was just wondering if there is still anyone who applied for EDII but didnt get in to first february CW.
Is there still chance that some of EdII will go to second February CW?

@liyakh === of course ED 2-ers have chance fo the second cw…
BTW, minimum 80 people will go to the first feb CW. thats according to FB group.

@liyakh – I believe there is a chance yes, you can be ED-II and be invited for the 2nd CW, but the no. of ED-II people being invited on the 2nd CW will be minimal. Most of the ones on the 2nd CW will be RD.

@liyakh
Yeah I’m one of those too!
Let’s keep those hopes up!
I wish all of you who are traveling to the first one a safe trip and can’t wait to hear your impressions from the weekend! So exciting :)

80 at the first Feb. CW? Wow, that seems to be a very high number of kids… mine was only 54…

@bmraotwtn – I kinda expected a large number for that CW, since ED-II students will be designated to prolly travel in the first CW itself, its like in March CW of previous year where 80 students travelled. But I’m positive they’ll invite some ED-II people for 2nd CW of Feb. as well.

Yes there are people from ED-II at Feb 24-27’s CW! I can confirm this because I know someone who got the email (just 5 hours ago in fact) inviting her.

Wohoo! I’m invited to the Feb 24 CW as well =)

I’m an ED2 candidate and read the email about 2 hours ago! Super hyped.

@ma3a20 – Wow! Congrats to you man, good luck for the CW, I hope I can see you there Still waiting for an invite.

I just got my invitation too.
Hope to see you all there!

I got an invitation too! SO EXCITED :D

murtaza, have you considered that because you went to a CW last time, you might have already satisfied the CW requirement?

@ma3a20 – Well I was about to consider but I checked this up with admissions staff that even if you’ve attended a CW last time and you’re reapplying, you should be invited to a CW this year. I know 2 people who’ve reapplied from last year (there may be more though) who made it to CWs last year but couldn’t get into the Class of 2014 and now they’re attending CWs for this year, one of them is actually going to be in the 1st CW of Feb. the other one has already traveled back in November.
I think I’ll allow some more time, cause actually invites according to prediction should’ve come out by Feb. 4-5 but guess they’re sending them early so I might as well wait and be positive, I hope to get in this time.

Congrats to Asha and ma3a20! That’s certainly wonderful news!

murtaza, dude, kudos to your patience and positive outlook in life. just seeing people here receiving their invitations is making my stomach twitch. here goes another exciting week of waiting for e-mails! Best of luck to the rest of us!

do you think they’ve already made a decision about the acceptance of ED2ers going to the 2nd CW because it’s so close to the release date? i mean, will they be able to evaluate and make a decision for everyone all in that one day between the CW and Feb 28th?

on a lighter note, how is everyone’s peers and family reacting to the whole NYU in Abu Dhabi concept? My parents and I are absolutely ecstatic, though a lot of people seems to doubt my choice ED2ing here – it’s small, it’s new, it’s in the Middle East. But aren’t those just part of all the many positive aspects of it?
