I’m taking only my iPod. Email, chat, and music is all I need! :)

Well about laptops, its just a weekend so unless you’re a guy who constantly needs the updates from web or if you need to stay with your social networking etc., you may need your laptop then. I actually did bring my laptop back in my CW, and I made a good choice since all the computers were literally Macs and I’m a PC user so yh.
About the lecture, they basically have a survey to fill out for the ones invited where they give you an array of lectures for which you have to set your preference and then just wait, you’ll know your which lecture you got right in your CW.

Heey guyzZz… CW was AMAZING… Good luck everyone once again, and congratulations to thoso wgo were invited. Just one tip, take sunglasses, coz sand’s gonna hurt ur eyes, I jad that prob. :)

cloudychicago, you’ll know the class you’re attending only when you get there, but i was lucky enough to get my first choice ^^ it was amazing!!!

yeaahh… sunglasses is a must. especially if you wear contacts! and be sure to climb the dunes at night, star gazing is unforgettable!!! and you probably know that and i’m the only person who was stupid enough to do that, but do not put your laptop in your suitcase… mine is broken now (((((((

I remember back then, I never had problems with dunes, I’m kinda used to sand (or pretty much everything for that matter maybe )
P.S – Congrats, we’ve all made this thread reach more than 1000 posts :)

Ahhh I hope your CW was amazing everyone!!! I still haven’t gotten over mine, my heart is still in Abu Dhabi. How was it?!??! I heard they did team-building activities or something?

Anyways, I have a couple of questions - how many kids in total were there? were they all ED2 or was it a mix between ED2 and RD? also, any Americans?

Can’t wait to hear about it everyone!!!

There were only ed1 kids, total 85, and yes, there were guys from america :)

murtaza, good for you, but i wasn’t prepared for that at all… so you can probably imagine how much my eyes liked sandbathing…))

bmraotwtn, yeah, we did a team exercise which was very thought-provoking and fun at the same time)) why asking about Americans? were there none at your CW? btw, did you get in?

Hey guys,
Sorry but the ones who were RD applicants and have recieved their invitation: when did you guys apply exactly (around which month?) and: my form at Albert shows that my app is ‘incomplete’, cause I do not have any standardized scores (because in our country we do not do them): what do u think is it gonna b a problem? I know they’re not obbligatory but I am just not sure, cause what if an application is not signed as ‘completed’ they do not even recieve them?
:/

thanks a LOT!

@Dzhannet - that activity sounds great! we didn’t do anything like that, which is a shame. I applied ED2 so I’ll find out if I get in when you do and I’m just asking about Americans because it seems like the majority of the students posting here live outside the US, so it was just out of curiosity. And there were only a few Americans on my CW. How many were on this one?

@Budapest I had all of my application components submitted for RD on December 8th, and I’m attending the second February CW.

@ telperien, did u receive the e-mail first or the courier package?

My parent and I both received the e-mail last Thursday, and haven’t since seen a package through the mail. So I suppose it’s fairly late, or perhaps they only send through the mail to international students? Hmm…

Hey. What’s the package you guys are talking about? The thing is I put my Spain address instead of where I’m living now bc customs is really hard to get by and so yeah. Is there anything important in the package?

what courier package? I went to the Dec CW and we didn’t get anything

Well, I guess I read once that they send a mail package which includes the invitation, the school’s poster and the flight ticket, I guess so. But obviously they would send emails first. Anyway don’t worry, it takes some time to get delivered. And good luck with the CW :)

Oh maybe I got it wrong or something, but how did you get the flight ticket or they arranged that with you ?

Ticket is emailed via omeir (the NYUAD travel agency).

I know last year’s cohort were mailed packages for their CWs, but I don’t think it is the case this year. We got our posts there at Abu Dhabi in a package.

Right. The last year they used to send mails, coz on the CW video of a girl she had a poster at home, before going to abu dhabi.
About flights, they dont arrage anything with u: they dont ask u whether u want nonstop or the appropriate time. U will just get the e-ticket.

bmraotwtn, hope we’ll both get good news then)) there weren’t many on ours either… 2-3 maybe a bit more, not much anyway) what does the nickname stand for btw?
