NYU Abu Dhabi

Hey guys is this next CW the last one? So after those acceptances, do you think we will start to hear more about next year, classes, what to bring, who has been accepted etc.?
Good luck to everyone!

next one is the last one for ED-II so we will get more fellow students!
there is still one in march for RD which will be the last one.

and i don’t think we’ll get any more information until may, august (when most high school students in the US graduate).

You’ll get most of the information actually during July and August actually. And the last CW is in March.

hi when do you think the invitations for the march CW will be sent out??

@kheexuan – Hello there, invites are usually sent out some 3 weeks prior to a CW so for the March CW, so expect an invite prolly by end of this week (or sometime in the next week)

thanks! keeping finger crossed then! :))

hey guys! i was invited to the CW for 2/24-2/27 too! super excited! I was just wondering whether anyone has received an email from omeir travel agency yet.

Nope, I haven’t gotten mine yet either, but the fact that no one else has either is a bit reassuring. It’s kinda crazy that they book everything so last minute, but I guess they can afford to.

Just checked my email a minute ago, and I got my decision, I had prepared myself already and it turned out be that I won’t be coming in to NYUAD’s Class of 2015. It’s okay, not that disheartened now, since I already had a feeling as I didn’t receive an invite, but I do hope that all of my other options (which are actually all in US) do give me some positive direction in life through acceptance.
To all other applicants to NYUAD out there, those who’re invited to CWs/who’ll be invited to next CWs, good luck to you all, and those who’re turned down by NYUAD, relax, we’ve got a life to live and find better opportunities elsewhere, so don’t fret or worry.

Murtaza, I’m really sorry that you had to be disappointed after you had so much enthusiasm and passion for this school. I’ve only recently joined this thread but I have seen your unbridled optimism as well as a refreshing friendliness and helpfulness that can be rare gems sometimes on the Internet and CC especially. Because NYUAD didn’t value these beautiful character qualities, the school is really not worthy of your hard work and energy.

I’m certain that you will enroll at a fantastic school for you, and think about what a change it will be to come to the U.S. for college, if you so choose! Best of luck in all your future endeavors :)

Dude, I am sure you are well prepared this time for that disappointment. Let me give you a piece of advice which I am fully believe in not just coz it’s been said to me since I was a kid. but coz I can see it in every single moment in our lives. “All the losses and disappointments that we all go through in our lives are worthless” It’s not certain that NYUAD is the best fit for you, not coz you are not qualified but maybe coz you haven’t a place there. If you strongly believe in God and the advantageous destiny he created for us and 100% sure that you’ll be awarded for all the hard work and the great efforts you made through your admission process, then there will no be anything to worry about. People with broadened horizons and deep envisions are less much likely to get disappointed coz they see opportunities in every thing they do, I am not saying that to tell you that you r the opposite. I don’t know you, but at least you have reapplied and that shows that you are from that type of people. I have not yet gotten any admission letters from the schools I am applying to so I am not yet put down, but I made a lot of hard works and definitely going to be awarded for that. Even if I get rejected by all the schools, life has more time to reward me. I hope you find that helpful

@Teleprien, Bana93 – Thank you for your happily motivating and kind words, it was actually a bit early for this since I expected the decision emails to come out altogether by next week for ED-II. I understand that it could be NYUAD ain’t something destined for me, perhaps I’m destined to go abroad (perhaps not, who knows? only fate will tell).
On a note, I actually have never been to any other country in the world apart from UAE, and my hometown in Pakistan (I should be saying home-city actually, I live in Karachi).

Of course, hard work always rewards, maybe the reward may not be directly certain, it can be a realization for the future, or anything for that matter, but the fact is that there is a reward and that’s all what counts. I’m happy I have received something from my other options, I’ve had interviews with 2 Ivies so far, and I’ll be having one with a 3rd Ivy this coming Monday so hoping for the best. :D

P.S – I was just checking emails and saw the decision email, looked a bit shocked then listened to this [YouTube - Daft Punk - Prime Time Of Your Life / Brainwasher / Rollin’ And Scratchin’ / Alive - Alive 2007](<a href=“Daft Punk - Prime Time Of Your Life / Brainwasher / Rollin' And Scratchin' / Alive - Alive 2007 - YouTube”>Daft Punk - Prime Time Of Your Life / Brainwasher / Rollin' And Scratchin' / Alive - Alive 2007 - YouTube) and then realized I’ll have a “Prime Time of My Life” soon ahead Inshallah. -_- Is there anyone out here who’s a fan of the people who’ve composed the music in the link?

yeah I am fan of daft punk, not a huge fan, but I like their music. However I am madly addicted to house music with its all genres: minimal, progressive, deep, electro and tribal. :D

Good luck Murtaza. Blossom where you’re planted.

@ma3a20 – Thanks a lot man :smiley:
@Bana93 – In that case, you’ll absolutely be a huge fan of AVB and deadmau5. and Tiesto.

murtaza101, i have no doubt that in, say, 10-15 yrs we CCers will be honored to say about you “I know that guy!!!” )) good luck with the Ivies!!!

@Dzhannet – Thanks, but its actually not a bit surprising, in my CW and I’m pretty sure in your CW as well, there were and there will be candidates who’ve actually applied to Ivies and are of that caliber. I had some friends back in my CW who didn’t attend NYUAD for their acceptances in Ivies and big non-Ivies.

I’m sorry to ask again, bit has anyone heard from omeir? I know the email said we’ll get an email by the eighteen the latest but I’m still a bit worried.

So did anyone get anything?

Nope, I haven’t heard anything from the agency either. But we will, don’t worry haha :D

haha thanks asha! i feel like this is too good to be true. that’s why. =) can’t wait to meet all of you guys! =)
