@ahtesham Oh I wish that was true I was only one of three in my class to get an A, the other 12 got A*! I know Iām not as intectually gifted as most people applying, but I work hard to achieve what I want so I hope NYUAD recognises that! Thanks for the vote of confidence though

@twostepsfromit I know exactly how you feel! djaaaaa (nervous noise)

@De12345 If youāve applied ed1 then itās speculated to be between the 15th and the 20th of November, so basically anyday now I think we just fill out the profile as if we were applying to NYU
does that sound right to everyone else?

@twostepsfromit Well thanks for sharing that with us. I try to look at pictures of current NYUAD students for a bit inspiration too - itās research, not stalking! Haha. I also had to do a bit of convincing with my parents. But thankfully, they now share my vision and my mom and dad are waiting for the possible CW invitation just as diligently as I am (basically reminding me to refresh my email four hundred and twenty three times a day, haha).

@De12345 @LizaTB Yes, treat it just as if you were applying to NYU New York City. For the visa type, just put in F1 and clarify in the Special Circumstances section at the end.

Oh, and Liza, it may not necessarily be from the 15th to the 20th. Last year, an ED1 applicant by the name of StefanZweig on this forum received his invitation on the 22nd of November. Please refer to post #1331 on Page 89. Also, a friend of a friend received his invitation on the 22nd as well last year, so they may send them out all at once? Not too sure.

@unfathomable I know you had mentioned your sister was is a freshman at NYUAD this year. Congratulations to her, by the way! Did she apply ED1? If so, would you happen to know when she received an invitation to CW? Thanks. :)

@FrancaiseLove Oh no that means we have to wait even longer! I put other for the visa type because I figured it would be an Emirati visa, do you think that will matter? Ah Iām stressing so much, I definitely think I need to calm down!

Oh, no, I donāt think it should be a problem at all. I think itās pretty obvious weāre not planning to study in the United States at NYU ABU DHABI, haha. Just have to put something down to fill it in, I guess.

@De12345 The website states, āKeep a file of all documents you use to complete the PROFILE application as you may be asked for copies for verification purposes at a later date.ā

@LizaTB My dadās a businessman and our country doesnāt impose tax (thus no income tax return) in his sector of business so it was difficult to be exact, but we were pretty accurate, I think. How about you?

@FrancaiseLove ohh fair enough I tried to be accurate but my mum works three jobs all with variable wages so there was a fair amount of guesswork involved, especially when talking about this year/next year. Also did you find it was quite hard to fill out as some things didnāt neccesarily translate well from American policy to English⦠i.e my dad is retired and his pension is annual, but there is no total value. He gets a set amount per year every year until he dies. I hope the Finance Department understand that!

@FrancaiseLove My sister was accepted on RD So no help there, haha.

Starting from today, Iām probably gonna be super paranoid and not come into College Confidential because I know as a fact that Iām going to be super nervous when someone posts that they have been invited to CW (Like that one time when jayjayxoxo posted that she/he was invited to CW, which I believe is not true).

But really, best of luck to you all, and I hope we can all meet in the Candidate Weekend (Not that I know any of your real names)! :)

You guys shouldnāt worry. Your stats and everything are amazing. Good luck to you all!
Itās people like me who should worry. Average stats, average this, average that.

@HangingOnStars Average? Are you kidding me? Iāve read your stats and theyāre brill! Also youāre bilingual! Iām massively disadvantaged in as much as I only speak English and a small amount of French, I really would not describe you as average!!
