NYU Abu Dhabi

@francaiselove Congratulation. I am so happy for you good luck mate. I know you will excel Inshah Allah :D

@ahtesham Thank you so much, bro. I’ll be praying you get an invite.

@quadjo Well Albert is down at the moment, friend. Maybe I can check and let you know once it’s back up? I’m sure it’s still marked as ā€œUndecidedā€, but I’ll check when it’s up and let you know.

@kaiseryin It’s great to stay positive. Optimism truly is the best medicine. And you’re right! CW invites went out in batches last year, and hopefully it’s the same case this year.

@Daveyyy I don’t care what you say, I still believe in you. :)

Congrats to everyone who got an invite!!! It’s so wonderful to hear!
I’m just about finishing up my application. Sending in my nomination this week for ED2.
I hope I get as lucky as you guys  I really want to get in… haha it’d be my only chance of getting in a decent university since my parents are so reluctant on sending me abroad.
Congrats!!!

I just got my invitation!!! Wish to see you all there pals!

I am very worried about something though. Please check the following link and tell me if this is normal

[View image: Untitled](<a href=ā€œUntitled — Postimagesā€>Untitled — Postimages)

The date reported is 16/11/2012 and the date submitted is 15/11/2012. It also says, ā€œIf the date submitted meets your colleges’ and programs’ priority filing dates, your application will be considered on time.ā€

Am I safe?

Hey osamasayegh I also applied to NYUAD and i am tensed! can u tell me exact how long ago u received the invitation and what were you O and A Level grades? Also did u apply for Engineering?

You should be fine honestly. They would had reported a complication to you if there was something wrong.
Congrats!!!

, well, I had 8 O Levels, (7 As and an A) 2 A Levels with two As

I had 11as in olevel and 2aand a in a level…at What time did u receive the offer today or yesterday?

@rfuzzy, Well, you seem exceptional as well. My belief is that my real asset on the application was extracurricular activities and essays!!! It was last night!!! Good luck to you!!!

@osamasayegh Well first of all, congratulations! Good job. You’re from Pakistan, right? Me too, living in Malaysia now though. And regarding your financial aid status, I would say contact the Financial Aid Department as soon as possible. It clearly states you’ll only be considered for financial aid if you submitted it by the deadline. Just call them up and explain your situation. I’m sure they’ll try their best to help you out. :)

Scared… and screwed!

@francaiselove, well actually no, I’m Egyptian. I must be the first Egyptian to ever get a CW invitation from NYUAD  .

Regardless, Would love to see u there.

I just re read the page and it makes absolute sense. It clearly says that if you submitted before deadline (11/15/12), they will review it, even if the report date is later. Thanks God!!! I’m safe!!! I can’t stop tearing up of joy!!!

you guys have amazing test scores and diversely cultural background. i should not be upset by the fact that i wasn’t invited  Good luck to you all and hope you a bright future, really!!

Oh, wow, you’re Egyptian? That’s so cool! Sorry for the confusion though, haha. Can’t wait to meet all you guys.

Dude, I’m Egyptian too! Haha, well I live in the UAE, grew up in America, and originally Egyptian. :)

Good luck to fellow EDIers and Congrats to those who received their invitations already!!! :)

I got a candidate weekend! i’m so so suprised!
Good luck to everyone that hasn’t heard :)

Hi  I applied for the ED1 to NYUAD. Can somebody please tell me how you find out whether you are invited to the candidate weekend?

Best of luck to everyone :)

@Liza TB Wow! Congrats! Good luck to you. I am sure you will really excited. Well i am so screwed. I think i lost

Hey guys! I’ve been lurking around the threat for a while, but only decided to post now. I’m invited to the CW in Dec - so for those who received their invitations already, I’ll see you guys in Abu Dhabi soon!! I think NYUAD sent invitations for CW in different rounds last year, so if you haven’t received your invitation yet, keep holding on!

I’m kinda in a dilemma about the leadership essay that I’m supposed to write for the CW (I’m not nominated by my school, so no, I don’t have a research proposal). They basically ask me to pick an issue in my home community that I feel passionate about, explain the different perspectives on it, and propose a way of changing it. I’m involved with a lot of LGBT rights advocate activities both at home (Vietnam) and at my school in the US, and gay marriage/LGBT rights have become huge issues in Vietnam lately, so I really want to write about that. However, I’m also aware that homosexuality is against the law in the UAE… so I don’t want to risk my chance by saying controversial things in my essay. What do you guys think?? Any help would be much appreciated!
