bump, please guys I really need help!

Tech is going to be hard…i wish i could be more supportive…you might be able to slip in if your math subject test scores were high but they weren’t.

on NYU, it’s a mystery to me.

Oh I forgot to list my AP course load: (12 in total)

Completed: Human Geo, World History, U.S History, Chemistry, Euro History, Language and Composttion

Current: Literature, Gov’t, Macroeconomics, Physics 1, Psychology, Calculus AB

@southernhope thanks for the feedback! But do you still feel like my odds are not in my favor even though I applied for summer?

Your ACT is a bit low and your Subject tests are also pretty low. Geogiatech certainly takes race into consideration, so being Asian it’d certainly be difficult. I knew some Asians who couldn’t get into Geogiatech with 3.8GPA. But your extracurriculars are very good.

Test scores might be a little low but being a first generation college student definitely helps. Write some good essays and don’t be afraid to mention being raised through domestic violence either in your essays or in the “other info” section on common app.

Take a look at my thread if you could

NYU: Reach
GTech: High Match

The problem are test scores for sure. But the fact that you are a first generation college and you ECs are very impressive.
If you have excellent recommendations and essays, you’re chances will be very good.

@AKAKHALEDBEST‌ and @ptkid16‌: Thank you guys so much, I just did your chance me! It was great hearing your feedback!

NYU is quite hard to get into, especially if you’re looking to go pre-med (unsure on your intended major).

@butleraa133‌ ahhhh shoot I forgot to put that down. I plan to major in biomedical engineering, so I am shooting for NYU Polytechnic.

Hm, I think you are a slight reach for NYU only because NYU Polytechnic has higher scores. I think you are also a slight reach for Georgia Tech. However, that is just based on numbers. You have a lot of great extra curriculars and if you write some amazing essays I think you will have a good chance. However, since you do plan to major in engineering, the applicants are going to have higher test scores so find another way to stand out and make yourself memorable. Good luck!

Bump. Need some more feedback please

Can’t really say much on NYU, but I think you should have a good chance with GT. Even though your test scores are a bit low, you were raised through domestic violence and have really good EC’s!

Your extracurriculars are amazing but these colleges, as far as I know are GPA orientated, to get in you need a banging essay.

My friend who’s applied to GATech has a GPA of about 3.9 and an ACT of 30 and ranked 1st in his class (he’s pretty scared about it).

My advice to you is to stay focused on your academics for now. Low test scores are a big hit in the dark so work your ass off now. Best of luck, mate.

I agreee with the above posts, you have an amazing chance at all of them!
