NYU BFA or RPI B.Arch?

I’d like to hear your wise thoughts. Which one should i choose? i’m pretty torn half and half right now…there’s good and bad for both.

NYU:

 • fine arts program with a contemporary skew
 • more liberal arts oriented
 • would double major in environmental studies
 • would then go on for an M.Arch I
 • in NYC, an epicenter of art and architecture
 • study abroad: cities like florence, ghana, shanghai, paris

RPI:

 • 5 yr. B.Arch degree (fast but intense - “baptism by fire”)
 • there is little to no room for electives/ lib. arts
 • but a lot of cool architecture courses
 • would probably want to do an M.Arch II, although i know it is unnecessary for professional architects
 • in troy, ny…
 • study abroad: places such as italy, india, and china

most architects i have spoken with have a BFA or some other BA undergrad degree and then go on for an M.Arch I in grad school. The ones who have done B.Arch’s say it is very intense/ a pain and they wish they’d just gotten a 4 year degree then gone to grad school.
