<p>Hi, I was wondering if you guys could chance me! I know it’s pretty early but it doesn’t hurt to know what I should improve on. I’m really hoping to be a strong candidate for possible scholarships b/c I can’t afford full tuition. </p>

*Received 2 C+'s the beginning of sophomore year (mother contracted breast cancer)
*Will probably receive another C this semester (grandmother died)</p>

  • Composed sheet music used in a video game
  • Invited by the Chinese government to play in the Beijing Olympics
  • Traveled to Argentina/Africa to teach less fortunate kids how to play a music instrument
  • Toured France, Germany, Korea, Taiwan, and China playing with local orchestra(s)
  • Organized local music fundraisers to raise money to buy instruments for less fortunate children in 3rd world countries (+$5,000)
  • Played in the pit orchestra for 2 school musicals</p>

<p>depends on the school you apply 2, in Stern there are so many ppl with 2300+ SAT. No one gets full aid.</p>

<p>Top schools like NYU don’t really give out merit aid, it’s mostly based on financial need. You should go crazy on outside scholarship. I won two major national asian scholarships (APIASF & USPAACC) so far, waiting on a few more. Definitely just out the asian scholarships, do Millennium Gates but don’t get lazy like me lol cause that scholarship is a lot of work but worth it.</p>

<p>Just have a good story and you can use it for pretty much every scholarship.</p>
