NYU Class of 2019 Discussions ED1

@xdxdaustin Yeah 'cause you can get “award access not available” but have the year be listed as 2016. So i’m not sure the year has any bearing on the type of aid

Just trying to go into a coma until December 12

@Smnparish‌ What in the world!?!! Ugh they just need to send out admissions on a rolling basis because this is horrid lol

So is 2016 no self service a bad thing to see?

@xdxdaustin you mean because the melatonin or the aid year stuff? haha

@newyorkeratheart I don’t think so. You just want the year 2016, as long as you get a year change, I don’t think there is a bad message you can get

(:

@Smnparish‌ well the melatonin isn’t all that bad. That’s what I take during the school year when I need to get right to bed anyways, but the degree of crushing debt I could be in if I get accepted is just something I want to know ASAP lol

@xdxdaustin haha i’d say just worry (though not too intensely) about getting in first

Guys, remember though, NYU is need blind meaning that adcomm doesn’t even think about FA unless you are accepted. And the fact that some people got the FA change and were rejected, I think some people will get FA change and it wont’t be any indicator. I could be wrong though.

@newyorkeratheart‌ I want to go into comma until the 13th so that all the drama is over and I can just open my email…
Ugh we should talk about something different to pass the time!

@NYUFan101 do we know how many domestic students got the change and were rejected?

I emailed Ryan Loiter, Assistant direction of NYU admissions.

This is what he emailed back, word by word

“The acceptance rate to Stern is about 18% and test scores tend to fall in the high 600s- 700s with an average GPA of 3.8 unweighted.”

This probably means for the ED, Stern acceptance rate is low-mid 20s?

@xim0204 i don’t think I will be able to sleep the night of the 11th. Literally going to take a hefty sleeping pill and pass out until 3 o’clock the next day

@newyorkeratheart‌ I work the day we supposedly get our decisions. I won’t be able to work at all though. My mind is gonna be NYU the whole time. I could potentially check my email while at work but I would probably cry from either happiness or sadness.

@girlintheworld one of my friends applied ED to Colgate, which has been her dream school forever. But the worst part, however, is that the day they release decisions is her birthday…

And lastly, the Stern rejections go out 1st I believe… this was the case in the Class of 2018 ED 1 thread

@jarjarbinks23 yes i stalked that thread too. those go out early. Then there is another wave of rejections in the morning and they all seemed to get their acceptances around 3 pm

So set an alarm for 3pm, and if we don’t have an email from NYU, we are in good shape.

@Jarjarbinks23‌ @newyorkeratheart‌ does anyone know an order for how they go out!? Anything about Gallatin?!

@newyorkeratheart‌ Wow, I hope she gets accepted. It would be a really sucky birthday present to get rejected.
