NYU Class of 2019 Discussions ED1

My other schools that I would apply to if I don’t get into NYU ( :frowning: ) would be to American, Tufts, BU, and George Mason (in that order of preference)

I applied early action to George Mason (cuz it was FREE)

I am from Florida and have decided to go out of state to New York City because it has always been my dream to live there. Which schools would you apply to if not accepted into NYU? (Which hopefully doesn’t happen to any of us lol)

My top choices (other than NYU) are BU, GW, Tulane (accepted), American.
But, of course, I’d still much rather attend NYU so hopefully we all get in!!

My top choices: NYU, UMich, UIUC, UT Austin, USC

Other schools I applied to… Case Western, UMich, Indiana Kelley, and UT

@fazeeeeeeel‌ Yes but admissions responded and they said if another school is currently listed all it means is that you indicated you’d be willing to consider them as a secondary school and they’re just checking to see if you’re a match with that school as well as your intended school. They said it doesn’t mean you got denied and that if anyone put down another school as a secondary option it will eventually show up in your portal.

So far I applied EA to Fordham at Lincoln Center and Northeastern. I got into Fordham and waiting to hear from Northeastern.

@newyorkeratheart‌ wait how did you hear from Fordham already? I thought they weren’t releasing admissions decisions until december 20…

My top choices after NYU are: Fordham & St. John’s. I just really need to go to NYC bc that’s where I know I can kick off my fashion/entertainment career! Anyplace else would not be ideal for such goals. However, if I can’t afford nyc then im thinking about Syracuse University and GWU  hopefully everything works out and I can attend school in NYC!

@ericajordan I know from a friend who applied there that they have already started notifying applicants of their decisions. She’s frustrated because she hasn’t gotten hers, but I just think that you’ll be notified by that date!

@xim0204‌ Thanks! Honestly it’s far from my top choice so I don’t even care that much, but I was curious!

@ericajordan‌ np! Haha that’s my friend’s top choice so she’s having a hard time waiting

I’m applying to Umich, UNC, Duke, CMU, Northeastern, BC, Lehigh and some other random tough schools like Columbia and Princeton (just for fun lol-prob won’t get accepted).

I’m applying to BU, GWU, northeastern, Fordham (accepted), USC, and some UC’s

Anyone still think we will hear on the 12th? Last year, Shawn posted exactly a week before the actual decision date confirming that decisions would be released a week later. It is now less than a week until the 12th …

@NYUFan101‌ Looking back, it seems like he normally posts an update about 3-5 days before decisions are released. The closest time between an update and decisions I see is for ED2 last year (update posted 2/11 and decisions released 2/14). If they still come out on the 12th, we should expect an update by Tuesday at the latest.

@NYUFan101 I’m expecting the 15th, but…well let’s just say I still might stay home on the 12th. I mean, who knows what could happen? Lol

@ericajordan it’s not my top choice in the slightest either, but the email said they were notifying their most competitive applicants early. I almost deleted the email!

@fazeeeeeeel‌ i would do Fordham over St. John’s. One of my close friends goes to johns and it’s definitely not close to a typical nyc experience
