NYU Class of 2019 Discussions ED1

I really want Shawn Abbott to give us an update.

@xinniiiye‌ I did but they werent able to help…

So no one else has the fafsa hold?

@Rahshe I have the fafsa and css hold. All fafsa hold says is that the term does not qualify me for FA 2014, even though I never applied for FA.

wait where is this hold coming from @NYUFan101‌ is it on college board or your fa status page?

Go to FA Award Summary page, and in the little box up top on the right, select Student Center. In Student Center, on the right side, there is a page that says “Holds”. Click on that.

I don’t have anything that says student center when i click on financial aid summary–all i see is a little box with account inquiry

and the home and the sign out icon @NYUFan101‌

@510shopgirl‌ I only have account inquiry as well.

@bestb2‌ Don’t worry. The admissions rep said it means nothing and youre still being considered for your number one. They’re just seeing if youd fit in another school that you indicated as well as your primary in case they cannot offer you your primary.

Looks like they’re getting ready to release decisions soon. Their admitted students page (<a href=“Admitted Students”>http://www.nyu.edu/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/admitted-students.html</a>) was updated within the past few hours to add in the ED1 applicant page (previously said available December 15). They also added the expectations for incoming students.

@rfree18 do you think that’s indicative of decisions being released on the 12th?

Note also now on the new ED Page they specifically refer the the “2016” year: “You may then select “2016” to view your financial aid estimate and related award messages. Please read the award messages carefully.”

@rfree18‌ OMG reading that made me really excited!

This is what it says on the critical instructions under the “View your financial aid estimate” step: “If you did apply for financial aid, you may view your estimated award in NYUAlbert, the university’s online student information system. From the main page of NYUHome, click the “Academics” tab, then click on “Applicant Login”, followed by “Accept/Decline Financial Aid”. You may then select “2016” to view your financial aid estimate and related award messages. Please read the award messages carefully.”

So “2016” on the FA page is good. I wonder what “2015” means. Oh well…

SIX DAYS LEFT… or less! We never know!

@xim0204‌ omg imagine if we do find out on Friday!! I would die. Do you think the FA theory holds true according to what is stated there?

Assuming we get into NYU, do they require that we send in our first semester grades, or do they only want final year grades?

@NYUFan101‌ It looks like they only require your final transcript. That’s what it says on the “ED1 Admitted Students” page, at least.

@NYUFan101‌ I am pretty sure they only want our final ones.

@girlintheworld‌ I’m really nervous since Shawn Abbott hasn’t made a blog post. I just want confirmation :frowning: I honestly have no Idea about the FA change. I think it might just be systematic? but I’m not sure. I don’t want to get my hopes up!
