NYU Class of 2019 Discussions ED1

@Jarjarbinks23‌ I know that part made me a lot more nervous. :confused: Do you think that means that they are going to accept more people or just let their acceptance rate be lower?

@girlintheworld no good reason to accept more people. In fact they probably want more people to apply so NYU can appear more selective.

@girlintheworld‌
There acceptance rate will probably change slightly, most likely higher. Colleges like brown would want to increase their percent yield in order to compare with the other Ivys. But it’s not going to change too much

Does anyone still not have the FA change?

me @nyufan101 :frowning: totally bracing myself for a rejection in the first wave…it’ll take a miracle for me to be accepted!

@fazeeeeeeel Don’t say that. My FA change came when they had to do server maintenance. They have to do something tomorrow night as well, so you might get it tomorrow night

@girlintheworld @Jarjarbinks23 There has been a consistent upward trend for most schools regarding the number of applicants they receive each year. I’m pretty sure last year more people applied to NYU than the year before, and I remember reading that they had accepted their largest incoming class yet as a result. Therefore, it’s not unheard of for NYU to increase their class size to compensate for an increase in applicants. Furthermore, with NYUSH and NYUAD being new and growing, it’s no surprise that they are getting more and more applicants, yet those applicants don’t compete with the NY campus applicants.

Lastly, with the whole application process being online, it’s increasingly easy to submit an application “with a click of a button.” However, most of these new applicants are probably applying for that very reason: because it’s easy. So, it doesn’t necessarily mean there are more qualified applicants suddenly popping up.

i still don’t have a change oh gee im so anxious----praying that i will get in— also currently regretting not putting LSP as an alternate program

my program saids steinhardt and didn’t change to my alternate, lsp yet. but i dont have the FA change. so i’m not sure what’s up.

@NYUFan101 I haven’t gotten the change yet! :(

I am guessing they are going to be sending all rejections out first, so I am not gonna check my email until the end of Monday.

Hey does anyone know what exactly the “splashes” messaging system is? Its on the NYU home screen and I don’t know if it has always been there or it was a change or something.

It is new. The system was down for maintenance for an hour.

I have also yet to receive an FA change. I am sure I got rejected so I am just hoping that I get accepted at Fordham which is my second choice! @NYUFan101‌ @fazeeeeeeel‌

Same! Fordham is also my #2, hoping that I get accepted there :smiley: what major/school did you apply to? @osmany02

@bossalbatross‌ where are these splash things on Albert?

@510shopgirl‌ if you go on nyuhome (log in through nyu . edu) it’s on the top right corner it says “splashes” but I don’t think it’s anything really

@NYUFan101‌ I still haven’t got the FA update. Does that mean I haven’t got in for sure? My friends got it. I’m so upset and stressed. Please reply!

Hey! Don’t worry. People last year didn’t get the FA change until the day of decisions. Some didn’t even get it until after decisions. While having the FA change is a good sign (i think), not having the change isn’t awful.
