NYU Class of 2019 Discussions ED1

my b. I meant same day

29 more hours everybody! I think I’m going to kill myself.

Oh by the way, is anyone applying from the Middle East? I’d love to know.
Greetings from Lebanon!

Good luck everyone! I applied to Stern and received the FA Change so hoping for the best tomorrow!

@ksalam‌ I am! :slight_smile: What school do you go to?

It’s already the 15th here in Singapore(1am local time) and I literally cannot breathe ( I had to get my inhaler :P)

also @bobcat97‌, does that timing apply to internationals as well?

Also a quick question to the CC Community, is it possible to get full/large scholarships at NYU (preferably at Stern)? Based on previous threads or personal experiences you all have experienced?

Anyone not going to school tomorrow just because of the anxiety? I am actually considering sleeping till 3pm so that I can wake up to a decision…

'Admissions decisions will be released by email on December 15. It will take the entire day and into the evening for us to release all decisions."

“We expect that all admission decisions will be sent via email on December 15th after 5pm (Eastern Standard Time) for Early Decision I candidates and on February 15 after 5pm for Early Decision II candidates. Admission decisions for Regular Decision candidates will be sent sometime on April 1st after 5pm. Admission decisions will not be available anywhere on this website.”

Does that mean they’ll start at 5 or they’ll be done by 5 or?

also, on ALBERT it says “Admission decisions will not be available anywhere on this website” but simultaneously says “For applicants, Albert offers a portal through which you will be able to check the status of your application for admission. Students who are offered admission will reply to the offer through Albert, and will be able to view their financial aid award online.”

?!?!

@auspicium‌, they start at 5.

And that just means that they won’t let you know your admission decision through Albert, you’ll get it by email. If you get in, you then go on Albert and accept the admission or deny it, depending on whether or not you want to go to NYU.

@ksalam‌ Hey, I’m also Lebanese :slight_smile: bas I live in Abu Dhabi not Lebanon.

I go to International College (IC). What about you?
@rindala

@auspicium‌ I believe the timing changes based on your location in the world. If you want to know your timings, find out the time difference between your location and New York City and add or subtract that from the 12 am or pm

I’m probably not going to school tomorrow because of my anxiety!

@nyubobcat
I am assuming that you applied ED1, so the financial aid you get will be minimized most of the time since you have to go there if your family has the income to pay for the tuition. However, if you can’t pay for it, I think NYU will look at that and possibly offer you financial aid. In the past, there have been people who received full rides to all of the schools in NYU. Hope to see you at Stern next year! ( i also got the FA change)

@auspicium and @sarrahhdaherr‌
It means that by 5pm EST, all decisions will have been sent. They can’t do all of that in the short time frame of 7 hours. They will take the whole day starting at 12am all the way to 5pm.

@bobcat97‌ hmm this is what Albert says: We expect that all admission decisions will be sent via email on December 15th after 5pm (Eastern Standard Time). Key word after. Either way, before 5 or after 5, tomorrow is a hella big day.

@ksalam‌ i’m half saudi/syrian but I have a lot of friends who go to IC!
