I foolishly tried to email to my supposed nyu email assuming it wouldn’t send through…but it did, I am able to email my “nyu” email lol. I hope I didn’t make the AO staff angry

it says risky for my email address LOL… However I can send emails to my NYU Email. So at least it exists.

Yup. I tried it for a couple of other colleges and some were undelivered/Gmail said they don’t exist :skull: The question is: why does the NYU Home portal say my NYU Email does not exist lol. Did they create thousands of emails for applicants?

My nyu email shows risky too. I tried same fake gmails and it says undeliverable. For correct ones it indeed shows deliverable. But idk the meaning of risky here. Let me try to look what it means.

Not only gmails; i tried other addresses like my umich id, it says deliverable for correct ones (it is real, i have one)

Okay, so i solved it. @nyu.edu accepts nonexistent email addresses while @umich.edu does not (i confirmed this from a tool). So when i tried a fake umich id it showed undeliverable and when i tried a fake nyu id it showed risky.
Idk if I made it clear, did i?
In conclusion, emails sent to @nyu.edu IDs not bouncing does not signify that email address exists.

For gmails you cannot. But i just checked @nyu.edu accepts non existent addresses. Let me send you a screenshot for clarity

When you guys log in to your portal, go to NYU Home, click ‘go’ on Albert, log in, click on NYU Housing payments, and then click to continue to Bursar, are you able to? I am able to sign in and given the option to put funds in my ‘Student Account’.

I am able to sign into my son’s account and get there as well. I hope that means something positive but honestly I’m not counting on it.
