NYU Cost, Financial Aid, and Scholarships

I have heard a multitude of answers when I ask the question of how much one year at NYU costs for a Stern student. I have heard that it is $53,600, $41,000, $73,000, and $98,000. I would just like someone to clairify this for me. The school site says both $41,000 and $73,000, however, NYU students have told me that it was $53,000 or $98,000. Also, what is the highest amount of financial aid they offer, and what is the largest scholarship they offer? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank-you!

I have consistently heard it is around 60K.

They offer very limited financial aid for everyone. Check the threads here on CC, you will find that NYU is one of the most expensive schools with poor financial aid help.

If you plan on going there, you need to plan on being full pay because they really don’t offer anything in the way of scholarships and grants.

Don’t understand the confusion. Just googled this and it came up immediately. However, you should NOT be relying on CC for things like this…check with NYU directly and search their web site! (This does match D’s current NYU bill…so it is accurate.)

As for financial aid, it depends on your need and how much NYU wants you. They do not meet full need for the majority of students, but they do sometimes. I would research the common data set for more details.

If your Stats are above the 75th percentile, with good EC’s, glowing recommendations and outstanding essays, your chances of NYU meeting need obviously improves.
