Thread is pretty self-explanatory; which dorm do you recommend for a first year undergrad?

Well, That really depends. What is more important to you?
- Cost (go with Rubin LCT - Low Cost Triple if want one of the cheapest option; but no air con)

2) Location (close to Washington Square and bulk of school buildings - go with Hayden, Weinstein, or Goddard (Goddard requires separate application into their Residential Life program and it is a smaller, close knit community)

3) Newness and Space (Founders if you do not mind a 10 minute walk since it is on 12th St.)

4) Apartment style living? (Basically, the choice would be Third North if you want a kitchen).

So, determine what is most important to you. The above are only examples. Take a look at this site for some pics and reviews:

By the way, you should click on the name of the dorm to get to the pictures of each dorm.

Goddard is probably the most convenient location (IMO). Starbucks right down stairs, library across the street, and all the W4th buildings just up the street. But Weinstein is convenient for getting food since it has two cafetarias - a traditional one, and a “food court.” And a small market is right next door, where there is a buffet/deli.
