*****NYU Early Decision 2 Class of 2020 Discussion*****

Well I had the housing change to freshman and now I have Non Renewable under both so it may not mean no change.

@guard527 i think we can come to the conclusion that what is on our housing now means nothing and we should just wait for monday

@guard527 you have a different case. Yours didn’t change on the 8th right?

@guard527 Before it changed back did you have freshmen under both spring and fall or just fall.

I do have to say one thing that DID come out of all this unnecessary drama was a great time to sit back, read the hilarious admission decision theories, and see how everyone was starting to lose their minds over something as little as housing changes. My advice: don’t take what every user says to heart, and just wait the five days for decisions to come out :slight_smile: netflix is great, the local library is even better, or hanging out with friends even! surely i’m nervous as heck for decisions to come out, too, but it’s pointless to sit here hunched over our computers trying to read into glitches and whatnot

Mine switched back from freshman to nonrenewable undergraduate, as well! In my opinion I think they just attempted to fix the glitch upon finalizing decisions (not completely successful as some people still have it.) However, if you had the change in the first place it should be a good sign? Why else would they change your status to a freshman? And it “coincidentally” is fixed the day they’re finished with ED 2 applicants? Not going to get my hopes up too much though. Certainly can wish that initial change signified an acceptance, though. And if you didn’t get the change at all there’s still people who got in without it :slight_smile: Remarkable how such an esteemed, wealthy institution has such obvious glitches on their site! best of luck to everyone.

@sgks1313

NYU’s technology has always been known to be awful

Is there any way to check if mine was Freshman before it was Non-Renewable Undergraduate? I wasn’t paying attention to any potential housing change so I didn’t check prior to yesterday. I don’t know if it was Freshman or not, but I do know that it’s currently Non-Renewable Undergraduate.

@closavia

I think the issue is that people who never got any change have Non-Renewable Undergrad in both Spring and Fall, while people who had a housing change, have Non-R U only under Fall & Spring application is unavailable for them at this point. I’m not sure if that is true, but I think that this is something that I read here few posts ago. So if you have this NonRU under both, it may seem like you have never received any change? I do not know. Someone please assure me in that observation.

@user66974 Haha, yeah I totally agree! I maked myself some brownies and read through this thread today.

In just 5 days, my future educational experience will be decided… or not… ~O) $-)

50 pages in the last 5 days lol

@scoobysnacks56 challenge accepted

Control, T-minus 103 hours to liftoff

Remember, most of us will be rejected. If you’re reading this, you’ll most likely get rejected. Sure, NYU isn’t that selective of a school compared to Columbia, but it’s still pretty darn selective.

Condition yourself to rejection so that it won’t sting as much if it happens, and it probably will.

True that. @closavia

@closavia Lol, true but let’s just all think positive

@closavia holy shit. NYU is not very selective, and all of you guys have very high chances seeing as this is ED2. I got in last year, and just wanted to drop in for old times’ sake. Love you all, and good luck!!

@closavia @collegesaywht123 not necessarily. usually on forums on CC, the majority of people who are constantly on the thread generally get accepted as they typically have a huge interest. like on the northwestern thread, i was definitely in the minority when i was rejected. HOWEVER i do think it’s a good idea to expect the worst

@ImNYUobsessed

30% acceptance rate is pretty selective.

@closavia is right, if pessimistic. Most of us will be rejected. But that’s okay. it’s not the end of the world. If you’re a good enough candidate to be seriously considered, which most of you were, you will be fine no matter where you are. Your work ethic, intelligence, and personality will take you far, not the name on your degree.
