When does Early Decision estimate come in, and if the estimate is too low, are you allowed to deny the ED based on the estimate?

My financial needs are high. (Parents make under 14k)

i believe thats the only way. i meant after all if you cannot pay for it, you can’t really go anyway. NYU is private and wont give anyone free education. assume you have to go, you need to get loans but really are the banks going to loan anyone now especially those families who have low income and have a less and harder time to pay back. they arent going to risk any subprime loans now.

When D did ED, she checked the financial aid box. They called and asked us to fax over our W2s. That gives them some sense of whether people can afford this. If income is too low to come even close, well, good chance you’d be denied unless you have some incredible hooks. Acceptance letter came in mid-Dec., financial aid letter came with it or very soon after. Then a revised amount came in April, after FAFSA was processed.

Lots of people need fin aid. The amount of grant/scholarship depends on how much they love you.
