@renegade23 I only knew one who got into LSP without putting it as a choice so I guess not a lot of people get that. I hope just like u said we got housing change so earlier may indicate we got in for our first choice becasue if I only get the offer from LSP, I won’t go to NYU

If you get rejected from stern, can you still be accepted to cas?
Has anyone tried or heard of someone calling admissions and asking about the housing change? If so, what did they say about it? Did they act as if it was a system error? Or are they aware of it being as a hint for admission?
Anyone who got in LSP at NYC previously, what did you see for your housing change?
@RSalvatierra Why on earth would they call the admissions office about that? Think about the likely response. They are going to either deny it is an indicator, or say they don’t know anything about it.
They don’t want people having any sort of knowledge about their admittance prior to the official release. Calling the admissions office, will just bring it to their attention (assuming they don’t already have someone watching these forums), and likely drive them to have the flaw closed.
Looking at the results from the ED1 kids, it is a good indicator of acceptance, even someone who didn’t request housing in the application, had the change.
Of the people who reported they were not accepted, and their housing info, none of them had the change.

@barcodeIlIl It should say Freshman, but on one of the pages of the application, it will indicate Brooklyn instead of Manhattan.
@adreamer22 LSP NYC is in Brooklyn? Another reason to add to my list of why I would hate to have to go to LSP.
Is there any way I could look to check if it is Manhattan or Brooklyn ahead of time(as in right now)? I got the housing change, but I’ve been too scared to go any further than the application start page right after clicking the green Access Application button.
@barcodeIlIl don’t knock brooklyn! it’s cool too. but if you were placed in brooklyn, it would say freshman in brooklyn instead of freshman in NYC.
@pizzaandpeonies Not really knocking brooklyn, its just that Manhattan gives off a better vibe and I really like the environment around their Manhattan campus anyways.
Right now I have what I presume most people here who got the housing change have, a “Fall in New York City” box and under the picture it just says “Freshman”. Does this mean I got in CAS or do I have to continue looking and if I do have to keep on looking, is there a way to find out if I got in CAS or LSP at this point?
Hi guys, I was admitted during ED1 and just wanted to wish everyone good luck and explain some confusions that has been going on around CC. When I applied , my 1st choice was CAS East Asian Studies however I was offered admissions to my 2nd choice - the LSP programme. Firstly I just want y’all to know that LSP is actually part of CAS and yes you can study abroad for the first year however it is optional for most people. I will be starting my first year this fall in NYC. and no, the LSP NYC campus is NOT in brooklyn, you will be having classes and living in the same dorms as all other students from other colleges such as CAS, steinhardt, tisch etc (except for tandon who will be based in Brooklyn ). The FA change occurred for me after my admissions ( but i think it’s because I’m an international student), I did have the housing change (Freshman) before the 15th tho and EVERYONE that I know who recieved the housing change got an admissions. However the housing change is only an indicator of the fact that you got an offer so there is no guarantee that it was to your first choice college. I know quite a few people who applied CAS as their first choice and ended up getting offers for the LSP programme even though they didn’t indicate any interest to LSP. However this is not “low” of them because if you’re not offered admissions to your first choice college it is NO longer binding. 
I hope this will answer a lot of your questions ~ and about the housing change don’t stress about it at this point because there’s still a good 10 days left and they are probably still going through applications ~ i know there are one or two exceptions but I personally think the change is reasonably “reliable” . best of luck to y’all~ hope to c u guys in the fall~
@barcodeIlIl i would assume that would mean a CAS acceptance, but honestly i’d just sit tight and wait (it sucks - i know) until the decision to know for sure.
Does NYU still consider you for CAS if you get denied by Stern?? I don’t want to risk not even getting in! Can someone please help 
also, i understand that LSP is not for everyone but there’s also a lot of people who are really interested in the programme. and it’s part of the college of arts and science and in your sophomore year you declare a major in CAS or any other college of your choice. I personally really like the programme, you do a lot of literature and sociology and things along those lines and it also provides really good study abroad programmes ( i ended up choosing NYC for the first year because I’m from aussie so it’s already like studying abroad for me :P) best of luck!!
@bubsbubbles I think that depends on if you put it as your 2nd choice. Being that this is a completely holistic process, it’s tough to say 100%, but they do have a student body profile they work toward, and I believe they likely try to build certain profiles for each of the schools as well. So they may not think someone is a fit for Stern, but they may be a fit for CAS, and vice versa.

@mishlll hi, I just wanted to ask that if you get accepted to the LSP program in NYC, can u change that to somewhere else abroad like London or Florence? And how did your housing change look when you got accepted to LSP?
So if Someone gets accepted to LSP abroad, what would the housing change look like? And what would it look like if we were accepted to LSP in new york? Would it say Brooklyn?
