@IBsurvivor98 hi what does your housing look like if you get deferred?? Does it say non renewable or freshman?? Than you do much if you could reply!!
@stehyh decisions can be made without midyear reports.
@gettingintostern If you were deferred then you wouldn’t be accepted at the time, which means that there would be absolutely no housing change, assuming the housing change is correlated with acceptance.
@stehyh i’ve checking everyday since 21st.
Do decisions come out at exactly 5pm?
It did in my D’s case for this year’s ED. She was checking through out the day and then constantly refreshing from 430pm on. She was in school and called home with her acceptance at 507pm after celebrating a little with her friends. After calming down, she sent me a text. She told me it was posted at exactly 5PM
I was accepted to LSP (my second choice after CAS) during ED I this year. I checked for the housing change the day before acceptances came out so I’m not exactly sure when mine came, however it said “Freshman in New York City” not “Brooklyn” for LSP. Good luck everyone!!!
I checked yesterday and it said freshman under fall in nyc but now it says non renewable. What does that mean
@runner625 i’m pretty sure everyone’s changed back. go look at the ED 2 thread
.
@callmemx were you accepted into LSP in NYC or did you have a choice to study LSP abroad?
@creed67 all students accepted into LSP have the choice to spend their first year abroad, it is one of the perks of the program. I chose to spend my first year in NYC, however I plan to study abroad in the future.
Hey my weighted GPA is 4.25
My SAT I is 2090 (I know it sucks)
SAT math II: 780, SAT USH: 760, SAT Physics: 730
5 APUSH, 4 Euro, 5 Psych (not submitted)
tons of volunteering, NHS, varsity track, and church involvement
My teacher recs are 10/10, and I got a supplemental rec from a former assistant professor at NYU
MY PROSPECTIVE MAJOR IS HISTORY AT CAS
@woodrowwilson1 Your stats look fine, although if you’ve only taken 3 APs, they may think your course load isn’t too great, but your GPA should make up for it. If you elaborated on your volunteering and present it in a good light, they may overlook your lack of ECs. Generally for most non-religiously affiliated schools, church involvement means nearly nothing unless you’re actively helping the less fortunate/people outside of your church (not recruiting). Your SAT is also slightly above average for CAS. As long as your essays were good, your class rank isn’t too bad and you elaborated on your volunteering, and that they’re credible, I’d say you’d be a pretty good match.
@adreamer22 thanks for the insight man!
I also hope my SAT subjects will make up for my SAT. I also got 3 in Calc AB and 3 in Lit.
My senior workload: AP Calc BC, AP Econ, AP US Gov, Honors Anatomy and Physiology, English 12, and sociology.
I am an AP Scholar with Distinction.
Lastly, I spent my summer at Economics for Leaders at Yale.
If you don’t mind my asking, what are the statistics for CAS, and how do these additional details improve my chances?
@woodrowwilson1Your AP scores aren’t very impressive, but your senior courseload looks good. If your mid-year grades were good then I’d say it would help you, and your time at Yale may help as well. Overall I’d still say you’re a good match. CAS tends to have about a 25-30% acceptance rate, with admissions statistics not far from the overall university’s statistics, found here: https://www.nyu.edu/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/fast-facts.html
Does anyone applying for ED2 have freshman on their housing page? I checked mine for the first time just now and it said non-renewable. Does that mean I’m rejected?
@jackieswen I applied EDII and I just checked this morning and I got the housing change to freshman under fall in nyc. Last week it was still nonrenewable undergraduate.
I’ve got the change to Freshman few hours ago too, I got it in the beginning then it disappeared then it reappeared now lol. Hopefully it’s a good sign
Where do you see the housing option, can’t find it, is it under albert?
