@crownvic you can’t.
@iywang but if i get deferred to regular decision, can i email them and ask to be placed in ED 2?
Hey guys.
Today, I got a change in my To Do list, which has confirmed my CSS profile. However, nothing has changed for my Financial aid. Is that a good change? Please let me know! Thanks guys!
@crownvic you cant get deferred in ed i. It’s either yes or no.
For those of us without the change… I think some people’s changes are just a reflection that their CSS profiles have been paired with their accounts. This seems to be different than the changes that were happening last year. Some people seem to have gotten the change though.
@deller123…where do you live?
so how many others got the FA change?
mine says “2017- New York University- No self-service access for this aid year”
and under to-do list :
“2016-2017 CSS PROFILE Received
Received
Financial Aid
2016-2017 CSS Profile Received NYU has received your CSS PROFILE. To be considered for need based institutional financial support, the 2016-2017 CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE (and Noncustodial PROFILE or Waiver Request if applicable) must have been filed by the deadline listed on our website. http://www.nyu.edu/admissions/financial-aid-and-scholarships.html. In addition to the CSS PROFILE, to be reviewed for institutional financial aid, U.S. citizens and permanent residents applying to NYU New York or NYU Shanghai must file the FAFSA, while Undocumented Students applying to NYU New York must file the Undocumented Student Financial Aid.”
@IloveNYU7 Florida - No Change
How about those who are not asking for FA and did not submit CSS? Is there something stated in the past if they also receive a change?
No changes for me, but I didn’t submit CSS. I heard that the changes still happen even if you don’t submit so… :((
CRAPPP. So my counselor called me today because NYU emailed him. Apparently the professor I requested a letter of rec from didn’t send it correctly, so NYU is still missing it. I’m in a panic! Ugh! I’m getting things straightened out now but what if I don’t get in because of this?!
@natiann123…don’t panic…if they still want to see things…they are still considering you.
@IloveNYU7 Oh dear, I hope so! That was my first thought but I can’t help but panic. I figure the admissions office gets this issue often enough. This is really out of my hands, because I did my part in requesting the letter with plenty of notice.
Did anybody submit their CSS and didn’t have the To-Do List Change?
It seems a lot of people have that change yet not the Financial Aid change, just trying to figure out if the change means anything.
did not submit CSS
To Do list change - yes
FA change - no (not yet?)
@remuwannabe wait so what exactly did your To-Do change into? The only change I’ve seen on this forum tali is CSS Confirmation.
Keep in mind that the blue box “No To-Do Items Found” is actually the default this year, as discussed some pages earlier.
@deller123 Sorry for the late reply! I’m not applying to any other college in NYC actually. My parents don’t think its a good idea applying to a fashion college because they think that I should have a good backup business degree incase the fashion part doesn’t work out. It makes sense cause the fashion industry is so competitive and going to NYU is kind of having an upper hand cause I can still do fashion things without having to do like full out fashion merchandising. Are you interested in Fashion Business or just Business? I applied to Northeastern University in Boston for Early Action. I’m looking into University of Southern California, George Washington, Boston University, and a couple of other business programs! What about you?
Yes, it seems it is a default. But it did change from just the box with “No current to do item information found” box to The few paragraphs before it added.
"Below is a list of your current To Do items. Items in a Requested status need to be submitted to the Office of Financial Aid in a timely manner. Items in a Received status have been received by the Office of Financial Aid and are pending review.
Please note that if you do not wish to borrow the federal loans that may have been offered to you, you can decline them by going to the ‘Accept / Decline Financial Aid’ link in Albert.
In order to view any external links and / or documents listed below, you must disable all pop-up blockers."
To Do List Summary
No current to do item information found.
All good. Expecting a rejection.
Okay. So looks like everyone who had changes today were those who requested FA. Did anyone who didn’t submit the CSS (request FA) get a change? I still have no changes and didn’t request FA.
I would say that the CSS Change is mandatory for anyone who submitted it. If somebody received CSS confirmation and others who submitted it didn’t, there will be hundreds of emails sent to their Admission Office requesting reviewal. They wouldn’t want that, would they?
It means nothing if you didn’t receive the FA change today, but it probably also means nothing if you have the CSS Confirmation.
