********NYU ED Class of 2020 Discussion**********

@remuwannabe…are you sure it originally just had the one thing about ‘no current to do info found,’ and then changed? i seem to recall that too…but i really am not sure. the last time i found that paragraph thing i thought it was new, but couldn’t be sure i wasn’t imagining it. anyway…still no fa change  @deller123…did not apply for fa…but i kinda don’t think that matters…

all i can say is this waiting is giving me an ulcer.

I agree with @deller123 that it seems as though the FA change only happens for those who have submitted CSS. But beyond that, I highly doubt the FA change means anything at all.

@IloveNYU7 I am almost positive there were no paragraphs before the box. But I’m not taking it as anything as I did not submit a CSS and didn’t request FA. sigh

@iywang why do you think so? can you elaborate?

@ferrarivettel because there’s no use in hypothesizing and causing some people to feel unduly assured in their chances of admission and causing others who have not received the change unnecessary stress. NYU never said that there was any real relationship between these two events, so why treat it like there is? Just like there is an extremely high correlation between the amount of cheese consumed in the US and the number of Doctorates issued in Maine per year, there also appears to be a high correlation between this FA change and NYU acceptances (actually the latter hasn’t even been corroborated by hard data) - now, does that imply causality? - no it doesn’t. Not even close. Just trying to temper the steam here. I feel like many of us, myself included, are getting too wrapped up in guesswork and psyching ourselves out over something that could very well mean nothing. There’s no real reason I have to think it doesn’t mean anything beyond this: There’s no real reason to think it does.

@iywang yeah I agree that there would be no way of proving or disproving the FA Change theory, but well if you’re not burdened with homework or supplement essays for other schools you can just log in to CC and discuss lol. Sometimes talking about something makes you feel less anxious.

I still think that the change means something lol, although I didn’t have one. But since there’s absolutely no way of knowing for sure…

And again not having the change today means almost nothing. Only very few people had it, so have a good Thanksgiving guys. We all earned this break after such hard work!

hey everyone ~ this is my first time posting on cc…
Im an international student from australia but currently studying at international school in beijing, china.
i submitted ed1 application to CAS ~
about the FA change, mine didnt change (yet?) however i do know someone who’s has changed but he didn’t apply for FA?
im so nervous , literally counting down the days to 16th dec :frowning:
NYU is my first choice and pretty much the ONLY school that i want to go to :frowning: visited this summer and just completely fell in love with NYU and NYC !
happy thanks giving everyone !

I submitted the CSS profile and the the to do list change but not the FA change. :frowning:

What’s this FA change people speak of??? I’m confused. I didn’t apply for financial aid so does this apply to me??

@LoverofNYU you can find information by reading through the previous pages of this discussion. I didn’t know of the FA change until last week, and I even had to Google lol.

@Thisishassanali @mishlll well if you applied for Financial Aid, which is by sending the CSS Profile, you’ll definitely have the change in the To-Do List. Basically they confirm that they’ve received your CSS Profile.

The “change” that we care about is the one in the “Financial Aid Status” tab, which is believed to be a hint at admission. It’ll change from “No award access available”, which is the one most people are having right now, to a table that says : “2017 New York University, Award Access Not Available” or something like that.

We don’t know whether or not it is a hint at admission. I personally think that it is because I don’t think there can be such a big coincidence between those who received the change and those admitted. Yet, only very few had the change today, at least from what I can observe. And apparently nobody who didn’t apply for FA had the change. So not having a change today means almost nothing (I didn’t and I’m perfectly relaxed lol)

But I’ll be in a big freak out if I don’t have “the change” by Dec. 14th. Let’s just keep my fingers crossed. I won’t think too much about it and I’ll enjoy my Thanksgiving.

@ferrarivettel Yeah I know of it, but what is it? What does it mean? The previous posts are just about whether people got the change or not, but I dont know what it even is.

@LoverofNYU I’ve posted this before, however, it does a really good job explaining the change and what it might mean. http://nyulocal.com/on-campus/2014/12/12/breaking-down-college-confidential/

@deller123 wait did your to-do list also change like this?
http://postimg.org/image/er5vooodj/
as @remuwannabe said, I am sure that there weren’t any texts above the box.

I didnt request FA either.

@IABstudio Yeah my to-do list looks like that. Not the “change” we are looking for. Think they just updated Albert and now everyone’s to-do reflects this update.

NYU office of admissions is open until 4:00 pm today. I expect we will see some changes today also. Please check and report if you have any changes.

@ferrarivettel --while i don’t disagree with anything you said, i will note that i had the ‘to do list’ change (or maybe it was always like this…with the paragraph before the ‘no items to do’ box…and I did NOT submit anything for financial aid. (response to: well if you applied for Financial Aid, which is by sending the CSS Profile, you’ll definitely have the change in the To-Do List. Basically they confirm that they’ve received your CSS Profile)…so i think that may knock that theory out…

thx for the clairification ~ i was quite confused even after reading all the previous pages ~
fingers crossed* constantly refreshing FA page

So if you applied for FA, but the FA summary never changed, does that mean rejection?

@Crzcorgi No! Not yet. Last year people got changes well into December.
