********NYU ED Class of 2020 Discussion**********

very true, i’m honestly just basing it all off of past years. sorry about the previous assuredness. @16eforeman @Ivywang

From past, there was a major wave around ten days prior to the decision. I hope a big movement will be happening tomorrow. No FA change without CSS submission make me fear that the FA theory may not hold true this year.

@JoJoJawhn yeah, I mean that’s supposedly the “correct” fa change, but @Ivywang is correct in the fact that there’s no way to be certain.

@Nottryingtoohard very true, that’s why it’s a theory, but just trying to contribute to help anyone worrying!

and yes, I agree with all of you ( @stern2020 @JoJoJawhn @Ivywang )

I’m am genuinely happy for those that are getting the FA changes.

In the past, have the applicants who did not apply for FA receive the FA change after everyone that did apply for FA? If so, this pattern is all great news.

@remuwannabe im actually not sure of the order of the fa change in previous years, but yes, in the past ppl who didn’t apply for fa also got the change.

@Nottryingtoohard no worries! just trying to keep the hope alive for people

  1. Yes (applied for FA)
  2. Steinhardt (secondary ed)
  3. Indiana
  4. Domestic

I figured I would formally join the ring; just remember there are about 12 days left. Regardless of the Theories and rumours (as everyone else had brought up), they are just that: rumours and theories. Good luck everyone!

The only way we will know the FA theory still stands true is if non-css submitters start to get it. At this point there are people who submitted the CSS and didn’t get the FA change. @Ivywang, sadly, I think these people represent the rejections that you believe to be lacking. Nonetheless, changes can still happen before decision day and nothing is final for another 11 days! Stick in there, I know it’s hard.

Just prepare yourself for both answers and know you have done everything you could to prepare yourself for admission. I know it’s a little late now, but definitely have a thorough list of schools that you genuinely are interested in attending if NYU doesn’t work. I’ve seen so many people from my HS apply ED to a top tier school and then get rejected only to end up going to third tier schools because they didn’t plan well (rushed applications to their back-ups, really poorly thought out list, missed deadlines for some schools…). Just because NYU doesn’t want you won’t mean that another school at the same caliber as NYU doesn’t want you!

@deller123 couldn’t have said it better. High hopes for tomorrow, non-css applicants!

Yes. Non CSS applicants/no financial aid applicants do receive the change. Mine came around this exact day last year, i believe the 5th or 6th.

Well that menas that if I dont get it by tomorrow afternoon, I’d be freaking the **** out.

I didn’t get a change and submitted my CSS profile. But, I got my noncustodial profile waived (not sure if that affects anything). So, does no chart basically mean that I may be rejected? I’m hoping a change happens tomorrow. My financial situation is weird, so I’m wondering if they’re just either trying to figure things out or just deciding to not accept me overall (b/c I’d prob need a good amount of FA, or just b/c I’m not accepted in general, haha).

I applied to NYU Tisch

2nd choice: Gallatin

@ferrarivettel SAME, good luck

To add to this, I agree that the biggest wave before the 15th should be tomorrow according to recent years. But last year somebody got the change in the 9th of December, there could be even later changes that I don’t know of.

To myself and everybody, don’t give up hope after tomorrow. Maybe they’re considering you for a big giant scholarship program or something lol. Nothing is final until Dec. 15

What time should we expect the wave? (EST)?

^last year’s applicants were also worried about the FA change

If today, ALL non-CSS submitters still have no FA change, it really would be something that differed from years prior. Still, while wondering if the glitch has been fixed by NYU, I’d be more comfortable with an FA change - I think?
Good luck everyone!
