@16eforeman I just checked and got the same change!! Mine says the exact same thing. I am hoping this is a good sign???
Now that I’m thinking about it, the new chart thing with only 2016 could just be Albert updating? So maybe everyone will get a chart as Albert updates throughout the night? I’m hoping it’s a good sign but I’m very wary of it only saying 2016
Something I also noticed. Why is most everyone (greater majority of those who applied for FA) getting the FA change. That’s a lot of acceptances guys. A lot. Are all of us just super qualified?
Has anyone who DID NOT apply for FA get any FA change? I don’t recall.
@iywang this is a small handful of people out of about one thousand that are going to be accepted ED 1. It could make sense
Tbh I think that NYU fixed the “glitch” this year. This is the only year that the NYU school to which one applied is not anywhere on Albert, so with that they probably no longer made the FA change an indication of acceptance
It must be a good sign! Congrats! Someone reported early in this thread that 2017 followed after initially having 2016. . :D/
@iywang Thank you!!
@Collegegal06 I’m from California
@16eforeman I don’t think only having 2016 has much to do with our financial conditions…Because FA is supposed to cover your entire school year, which is 2016 - 2017. It might just be another Albert update but Tisch IS really weird…I feel like they have their own procedure/system when it comes to admissions…
I believe so too. It’d be weird for them to let this go on for so long
@nyu2020 @Crzcorgi Oh well, I can see both of your perspectives. But @nyu2020 if we’re going to make assumptions about the validity of the FA change theory wholly on the results of those applicants active on CC in previous, it is only appropriate that we leave space to make commensurate assumptions in the other direction, considering that most everyone who applied for FA this year got the change.
If NYU asks your counselor for current grades, would the counselor said the latest progress report/quarter, or would they send CURRENT grades? Because I have a B and a C, both which should be one letter higher, because of missing assignments due to absences (that I am making up).
Lol pity is me if those got sent in as opposed to my good progress report.
- guys, sorry to crush the enthusiasm, but im pretty sure that is NOT the change. im 99% sure the change is "2017--New York University--No self-service access for this aid year." It has always said (since the beginning) "award access not available."
- Could someone who reportedly got this new "chart" change post a screenshot, cuz I'm pretty sure it isn't the change (again, sorry)
- Unless any non-fa kids (meaning people who didn't apply for fa) get the change sometime soon, then the fa theory probably isn't true anymore, but I highly doubt this. I think some non-fa ppl will get the change some time soon. (note by fa change I mean the self-service acces thing, NOT this "chart") but pls do pst a screenshot, cuz maybe u guys DO have the fa change.
Bumping - so everyone who got the FA change have applied for FA and
those who DID NOT apply for FA still haven’t received any FA Change on Albert?
@remuwannabe yes, FOR NOW, that is correct.
Hoping that will change in the near future.

@Nottryingtoohard
@16eforeman hmm, that’s actually what most ppl start with! idk why u got this change just now; did u submit something late?
But sorry, this is not the fa change.
Nope everything was submitted on time and it says so in the CSS received and things like that. Before I just had blue words that said something like “no award access” or something like that, but no chart, no year, nothing. It looks like some people are also in that boat, so I really don’t know what to think at this point @Nottryingtoohard
@Ivywang could you also post what you have in the financial aid summary section?
@Nottryingtoohard But how do you know your FA change is the correct one? There are people on the thread from earlier who started with this change and then 2017 was added the next day. It’s an FA change. No one knows which one is correct and which is not, also Tisch has an interesting system as someone mentioned above, so I really don’t think it’s necessary to assert with such assuredness that this change isn’t the FA change. None of us are part of admissions, this is all guess work.
As for myself, I did not submit CSS and have not received any FA change.
@Nottryingtoohard I can confirm that the FA change for me has both the 2016 - New York University - Award access not available and the 2017 - New York University - No self-service access for this aid year.
Both the before and after are posted somewhere on this forum (~page 20ish) and my story is posted too. For the reference: I did apply ED1, I did apply for FA, I did submit both FASFA and CSS, and I did apply for CAS and LS program from Texas!
However, I do agree that the FA change we’re looking for is the “2017” one that has “No self-service access for this aid year”. If you look on the NYU Local page that discusses the FA change, you’ll notice the screenshot they post says 2016. However, this was LAST year around the same time they posted this, so I would assume that 2017 is what class of 2020 should be looking for!
