********NYU ED Class of 2020 Discussion**********

its literally eating me up now I thought I sent my resume but turns out I didnt. Do you guys think they still accept it?

@pttrannn to be honest, its kinda a little late. There is only a week left, after all. I sent them my class info for second semester on around the 1st or 2nd of December, and they took it though.

@curryeater259 you say it won’t do anything, but have you tried it? Or are you too scared?

Resumes don’t really matter that much. My GC told me that the resume is just to help the counselor write their recommendations and if anything, your activities section on common app is good enough.

true. I think I will be rejected anyway :frowning:

Hey guys,

I am kinda very late to the party but I wanted to say that I am also applying to NYU ED but my first choice was Abu Dhabi.

Cheers
Good luck to us all!

@savagescholar I am an International student but I did not receive the change… I think i might be rejected

@Thisishassanali @catherine0611 yes some intl’ students in the second waves received the change. Although, the change is “not as strong” for international students, some who got the change in previous years didn’t get in, though I didn’t anybody who got in without an FA change.

This I think has something to do with NYU being “need-aware” for international students. Which means they can say: “Ok you’re in, but wait, you can’t afford us, so off you go” while this isn’t possible with the “need-blind” policy for US applicants.

This may sounds crazy, but as a domestic applicant, I’d rather be rejected out of financial need rather than accepted with too much money to pay for my family. In my desperation to get into NYU, I may take on some stupid loan deals and put my parents and my future self in too much financial burden.

So good luck guys, hope we can all see each other in Washington Square Park.

and also a lot of international students who apply to nyu in nyc can afford it, making the change pretty much insignificant.

You too! Hope to see you there

All right so I’m freaking out because even though I am fairly positive I did NOT get in (NYU was a reach), I can’t stop holding on to that small glimmer of hope that maybe I did. The thing is I don’t remember checking Albert around the time everyone said the change came (11:40 – 12:30 on Friday I think is what it was) since I was in class/lunch. My FA still says “Award Access Not Yet Available” and the only thing that HAS changed is my CSS saying they received it which, like others have said in the thread, doesn’t mean anything. Anyway, since I’m confused as to whether or not it disappeared right after, some people still have it, etc., does this mean I can be (98.9%) sure that I’ve been rejected as there’s no change?

Guys, can somebody tell me what this table thing is all about?
I don’t understand. Do people who get accepted see the table?
Is it still there?

@curryeater259 You’re funny, really. Calling names, mocking others, playing on other people’s anxiety - real mature. If you’re so secure in your ability to produce results, why not produce them yourself? Go on! Try it. Show us how it works. Get that flashy FA change and flaunt it to us all. In the case that you can’t, just a kind reminder not to go around spitting bull, acting so high and mighty, so sure of yourself, thinking that the terms HTML and CSS are going to throw us off and make us think you’re well versed in the field. A fourth grader with a Tumblr knows the terms HTML and CSS. In the case that something happens, you and yourself alone should take the responsibility. All I’m asking is that we bind together to handle the anxiety and play according to the rules. If you want to go rogue and manipulate things, then you do you. Just don’t drag other people into it. At least @deller123 didn’t get ahead of him/herself. Now, if you just shat out that comment thinking it’d make you look smart, you have way too much time on your hands. This is not the place for your acidity.

@Ahlesaadat it’s a table that has says 2017 - New York University - No self-service access for this aid year.

That’s the “FA Change”, basically it changes from the default page many people have right now with just a big “No Award Access Available” to that table. It is believed to be a hint of admission.

After the second change wave last friday occured for about 40 minutes, everyone’s changes was reseted back to default for some reason. Only two claim to see the table at this moment, one went to another program from NYU, and one didn’t respond in details what his or her “change” was.

I know it’s 60 pages, but if you have time, take time to look back as much as possible. A lot of crazy things happened in the last few weeks and it’s hard to summarize it here.

@iywang @curryeater259 chill guys, we’re in this together. I know this week is killing me, but I’ve realized waiting is probably the best way to get through this. In fact, I kinda’ enjoy getting all hyped up when going to CC and talk to all these also very nervous teenagers lol. We’re all in this together

When I logged onto NYU home page this morning, it provided a list of channel options for me to choose. Anyone else see or saw this change?

And I really hope that the new accessibility to the home page is a good sign for acceptance. It give me options to access more NYU information only provided to NYU community?

@stern2020 nothing unusual for me? Can you describe your change in details?

Did you have the FA change recently or last Friday in the second wave?

It said that if you are offered admission, there will be more channels available to you. So maybe that’s a hint at admission. I had nothing unusual, I can edit my channels by the button on the upper right but nothing I believe it was always there, a bit worried now.

@stern2020 what does it say?

@ferrarivettel thank you very much for your answer. I know lots of weird things when people are under stress :stuck_out_tongue:

@stern2020 are you taking about Albert?
