Hook: I don’t think I had anything unique about me but I am a first generation from an immigrant family and I think it was my “Why NYU” essay that really helped me.
Congrats to those accepted and for others, don’t worry you guys will find the place you’re meant to be at even if it doesn’t end up being NYU
Sorry for the late reply, I honestly forgot about this forum. My SAT was a 1300 (on the low side), my gpa unweighted was a 3.9, it was a 4.8 weighted, and I had like 5 string extracurriculars that I did consistently for my entire high school career. I took 12 AP classes in total and passed them all!
@Divyansh201 the FA change and housing change mean nothing. I didn’t get any change and I was admitted while some people got changed and were denied.

@natasha1313 this was my financial aid breakdown. $51,000 CAS scholarship. They offered $18,000 in loans (which I denied). And I was offered $3,000 in workstudy which I accepted. I do have a job on campus right now, it was super hard to get, and there’s no way I’m going to make $3,000 from it cause I only work 9 hours a week, but it’s good for side money.
@YooImTim so the net calculator said that based on my EFC, I would qualify for around $35,000. However, I received $51,000. Last year, most ED1 applicants received amazing aid!
@Id344718 from what I know, ED1 applicants will almost never receive the MLK scholarship, I don’t know why.

Anyway, i’m confused bc i saw that under financial aid, people have ‘accepted’ and ‘offered’. But i only have ‘accepted’ which is tisch scholarship and nothing offered? Is this bc i’m international or is it in another section? Or did they really expect me to pay the rest without loans? Not even any work study??

@natasha1313 International students are not eligible for any federal student aid which includes work-study. You would only be eligible for institutional aid which would be the Tisch scholarship.
