NYU ED Class of 2023

Chance me for NYU Stern ED2 please!

SAT: 1390 / ACT: 28
GPA: 3.89/4.0 (freshman-junior year)
Senior Year GPA: 4.58
Taking honors, AP, IB courses (4 APs total because my school doesn’t offer as much)

Ethnicity/Region: Female Korean American from GA
HOOKS:
Very involved in extracurriculars / many leadership positions / founded a club / President/Vice president of multiple clubs

*Over 350+ Volunteer hours

  • Some ECs include:
  • Model UN / Congress
  • TA at Korean Language School
  • Service trips every summer
( and during school year as well)
  • Volunteered to work with kids in lower income facilities (all 4 years)
  • Cheerleading / Soccer
  • RA of my hall (I go to a boarding school up north)
  • Student Council Board
  • Private tutored kids in elementary school

I think my Common App essay was pretty interesting (at least very personal)
Why NYU essay: Pretty solid but honestly can’t judge it myself

I’m really scared because I know how crazy it is to get into STERN and I realize that my EC’s dont have a lot to do with business directly but since I’m planning to major in management I’m hoping that my leadership positions and frequent involvement could be a plus to my overall profile.

@waytoonervous , instruction page says no.

https://www.nyu.edu/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/how-to-apply.html
Supplementary materials. Please only send supplementary materials (DVDs, pictures, articles, etc.) If you are applying to a program that requires an audition or portfolio (see Step 2 of the application instructions).

Step 2 referenced above only references Steinhardt and Tisch as requiring portfolios. Are you putting either of these as an alternative choice?

My update on LSP acceptance at NYU DC. I visited. It’s basically going to college freshman year in an office building…small class rooms, social areas and 4 person/1bath very cramped apartments in same building. No dining room so no meal plan…cook for yourself or eat out. that was my biggest issue. Program director says students get very engaged outside the building and into DC life aside from classes and into a spring internship and I do believe they make a great effort there. Just so not what I signed up for! Wanted the big urban campus i experienced at Washington Square with tons of kids and NYC’s energy & activity. Got into several EA’s one of which Temple U…visited & very cool campus and vibe, big dorms, and I can start my urban studies classes with internships…liked it, Have to make NYU ED decision decision this week and not clear yet.

@enjoyinglife , did you get the deadline for making your NYU decision extended? My D’s letter had a deadline of 3 Jan?

hi everyone! i am a current junior and knowing ED1 results came out already, please help me out if you got accepted into STERN!

i am an asian female from a HIGHLY competitive school (diamond bar high school)

my grades are extremely subpar as i stopped studying/trying starting sophomore year :// so right now my academic gpa from 9th-first semester of 11th is 3.14 and my gpa is 3.3. (i’m ranked 500/750 yikes)
i took the SAT once this past August and got a 1320, 19 on essay. i plan on taking again this march and will continue taking until i reach 1460.
i started my own music club where we perform for children and seniors
i am in symphony orchestra, take art class weekly, and i started a toys resell online shop a few years ago and profited ~$1,500 (but i don’t think this is impressive)
am applying to multiple summer programs (including nyu)

so… what, if any, are my chances of getting accepted into NYU Stern? and please if you have any tips on how i can improve my app LMK!! i’m so desperate, i’ve wanted to get into Stern for YEARS but since last year my motivation to work hard completely died off :///

much thanks :~ )

Hi All, I am in NYU Stern as a freshman. Totally loving my experience and live right next to WSP. Feel free to ask any questions. Good luck to everyone and congrats to all the ED accepted students.

Hey everyone, seconding what milan99 said–I’m currently a sophomore at NYU (CAS) and I’d be happy to answer any questions you guys have about NYU  Congrats to everyone accepted ED and good luck to those deferred!

Hey @Faultystart and @milan99 how are they dorms for s wheelchair user ? I know Admissions says all of NYU is accessible minus the NYC streets they can’t control. I’m currently waiting to hear back in February (ED2 is actual as stressful as ED1 ?). Thanks in advance!

@ayeitztasha The only freshman dorms I’m really familiar with are Brittany (on 10th and Broadway) and Lipton (right by the park). Both seem pretty wheelchair accessible–Lipton has stairs and a ramp in the lobby and the elevators in both dorms go to all the floors, including the basement where the laundry rooms are. Though, in Brittany, the rec room area might be only accessible by steps (my memory is a bit fuzzy though–I only remember there being steps). I wish I could tell you about the other dorms though, sorry!

@Faultystart no problem! Thanks so much.

Does NYU have interviews for ED 2?

^^^^^^^^^^^

@cheezy I’ve never heard of NYU giving interviews only candidate week for NYUAD.

Can people who got into Gallatin please post your stat

Hi did anyone who got in received an email today(or yesterday) reminding you about keeping your grades at the same level as your application grades from the admissions office.

Congratulations again on being offered admission to NYU. We look forward to you joining us!

As stated in your admission letter, the offer of admission is contingent upon satisfactory completion of all coursework currently in progress. This expectation includes the exams for which your school submitted predicted results in order to satisfy our standardized testing requirement and any national exams that signify proof of graduation.

It is our expectation that your final, official exam results will closely match the level predicted at the time of your application. Should your final results vary from your predicted results so significantly that your academic profile changes from that indicated in your application, the Admissions Committee will conduct a review of your offer of admission. A significant change in your academic profile may result in our rescinding your offer of admission.

Should you have any questions about your predicted scores and our expectations of your performance, please contact us at admissions@nyu.edu.

Thank you, and once again, we look forward to welcoming you to NYU.

Sincerely,
Jonathan B. Williams
Assistant Vice President for Undergraduate Admissions

something like this cause it seems like I’m the only one who got it??

@lmaoaaa are you international? It sounds like it from the wording of that letter.
