NYU ED Class of 2023

if everyone’s trying to email FA, try calling instead. emailing might take a while and calling can get you 1 on 1 with someone quickly.

Both the info session and website says they very rarely defer from ED, it’s usually either reject or admit for ED. Last year they deferred many more than usual (approx 500 vs the usual approx 200) because of the change in the SAT test making it harder to figure out the pool. I expect it will go back to the usual lower deferrals this year as they will have enough info from last year’s pool to judge new vs old SAT.

@SJ2727 Thanks!

Does anyone know what time ED decisions come out on Wednesday?

dont they come out on thursday? and the email just said in the afternoon, i read somewhere that because nyu is so academically centered they wouldn’t release it during school to disrupt that, but i honestly have no clue

@lolgirl123 sorry I meant Thursday haha. Yeah, afternoon is so vague. I JUST WANT TO KNOW

@mgingher ikr omgggg the suspense is killing me im sure my friends are so annoyed because that’s all ive talked about today

It came out at 4pm last year so I guess around that

anyone have good ideas for making time pass by fast? I’m tryna time travel to thursday afternoon lmao

Hey peeps! I applied to Stern for 1st choice and LS/Gallatin for 2nd; can they defer me from Stern but admit for LS? is that a thing or nah… lmk thank u and best of luck to all of us! hope to see you all next year in NY

Can someone tell me every change or indicator I’m supposed to look for and where to find it. This is so confusing.

I bet this is all fake. Some people have had “award access” since the beginning. They def took more than a week to make decisions.

At this point, I don’t trust any of these “indicators”

That’s good because they are all nonsense. From what I know from the last several years the only advance indicator is if you can sign up for (not pay for) housing for the campus in which you applied for the Fall semester and only a few people actually get that. Last year there was also a change to Albert status text for some folks who are deferred from ED vs admitted/rejected but that may be fixed. Everything else is invented by bored and anxious applicants. Being able to pay for things is a completely bogus indicator, the email change is bogus, FA status change is bogus. You’ll get your decision in 3.25 days, guys - until then try not to make yourselves crazy. Hang in there and the best of luck to you all.

According to past years, FA change has been unreliable and Housing change has happened a few hours before decisions release for most.

So our best bet is to just wait it out (3 more days!)

Btw u guys should all register for USPS informed delivery service. It’s free and it’s awesome. They scan all the mail that comes to ur mailbox and upload it online. It tells u when each mail will be delivered. I’m just waiting the NYU mail to be scanned and uploaded to my account sometime next week~

I’m so scared for decisions: / if I get rejected, then I will not only disappoint myself, but also my friends and family because they all have so much faith in me but idk

@MLAisreal from what i understand you won’t be deferred from one AND admitted to a second choice, it’s either/or. If admitted to 2nd choice then the ED is not binding.

@YooImTim , if the accept letter from NYU is a big envelope then USPS won’t help. You will see (1) standard size letters the day they arrive and (2) packages/parcels in the system for USPS delivery. So if it’s sent as a package then you’ll see it when it gets handed in to USPS NY, but if it’s just a large envelope then all you will have is “mailpiece for which we don’t have an image” on the same day it’s being delivered. Does anyone know for sure which it is?

Yeah I was wondering as well. Not sure if it’s package or mail piece. But I’m assuming it’s a mail piece…

You will get your online decision from NYU well before any mail registers with the postal service. I don’t remember my D getting a hard-copy letter or package until a good week after the acceptance letter was posted on Albert.
