Does NYU provide need-based scholarships to transfer students? If so, how does the financial aid package look like? I’m from a very low income new immigrant family…
Another question: I was also admitted to Columbia University the Shool of General Studies. So, it’s really hard for me to choose between these two schools. Regardless of financial aid, what would you choose if you were me? Taken financial aid into consideration, what would you choose if Columbia offered a lot less than NYU? (Columbia GS doesn’t provide meed-based) Thank you!

Have my FA 2017 award up last night and my transfer credit up this morning.
I was accepted into Steinhardt this morning at 6:17 am!!! I am in the program CCTOP. For those future hopefuls, I am currently at Queensborough Community College. My gpa is 3.9. I had ZERO extracurricular activities, however loads of life experiences being a non-traditional student. I even dropped my Nursing major last year. and switched to Health Science. I even turned in my application on the day of the deadline April 1st! I totally expected those three things to work against me even though my gpa is great. I think what got me in was my personal essay and the supplemental essay. I made sure to nail it on the head those two! I spent 4 months on it writing draft after draft (I read some posts of students spending a couple of hours on it lol). OMG I am beyond excited I can’t even think about studying for finals right now LOL. FYI there were ZERO changes on my Albert so don’t worry if you don’t see changes.

@Cannova93 how was the adjustment to NYU! the whole transfer process, was it hard to make friends? did you also get housing?
