NYU Fall 2017 Transfers Official Thread

Do decisions come out on Mondays or no?

@doubleS I did not, I really want to do math so I applied to CAS and Tandon. I got rejected from Columbia, but accepted to CCNY. Since I live in the city there’s no point in leaving.

Did you do the transfer opportunity?

has anyone heard from ReMu?

@lunatoons291 :frowning: I feel like it’s pretty shitty all over the state. I remember on that columbia thread people were happy just to get wait listed though! So congratulations!

@acceptmetransfer hi! im applying remu as well. I submitted in the second week of March and had all my items checked off in the first week of april…since then I haven’t heard anything and have had no changes on albert :-/ how about you?

@1College123 I don’t think any came out today. I keep looking at the facebook group hoping more people joined. I’m hopeful for tomorrow though!

@bk4567 I applied through the program. I’m nervous because I’ve been told that it can be very competitive depending on the year, a student at my school last year was denied with a 3.7 GPA. I think you should be okay though, the normal admissions process isn’t as competitive. Also, I’ve been thinking of applying to CCNY as a safety school, is it a good school in your opinion?

@doubleS for STEM I’d say it’s probably one of the best CUNYs. It really does depend on what major you want to do though. I’ve taken classes all over the CUNY system and have friends who have done the same and I’d say CCNY has the most rigorous classes.

Really? I’m scared, since my over GPA is a 2.8… I’ve seen people get rejected with 3.8+ from Fordham so I don’t know. I guess they really do look into everyone’s application.

Only bad part about CUNY is that NYU releases their decisions completely randomly throughout May so while I should be studying for my finals, I’m refreshing this page and my application status.

@hopefullynyu2020 hey! similar situation here, i submitted about a week after you and all my stuff’s been checked off but haven’t heard anything since. no changes on albert either… any idea about their transfer stats? i only could find info about how many incoming freshmen apply and are extended offers

@acceptmetransfer ah looks like we’re both in the dark! i’ve tried to do some research but i cant find any of their stats for transfers. However, i’m pretty nervous since i know it must be a pretty low number since they only accept 60 freshman per year.

@hopefullynyu2020 i’m definitely nervous as well… i imagine the retention rate is pretty high too since it’s such a ~prestigious~ program which doesn’t bode well for us transfers haha. anyway, i applied as a producer, what about you?

@tomtom123185 congratulations! Were you notified by email or does it show in your Albert? And what time did you get your decision?

@acceptmetransfer yeah haha the odds are pretty scary… i’m applying as a performer! wishing you the best of luck!

@hopefullynyu2020 thanks, and i’m wishing you the same!

Hey guys I submitted my application February 10th and I just got a FA change today. Does anyone know if a FA change guarantees acceptance?

@nyu1975 wondering too…i also got an FA yesterday

waiting on Steinhardt…Music Biz anyone??

Waitlisted students got responses today which probably explains why we didnt hear anything.

@hopefullynyu2020 where did you hear that waitlist students heard back?

@acceptmepls123 I think they had a blog post saying they’ll do that today
