NYU Fall 2020 Transfer

transfer financial aid packages r infamously bad. i called the office of admissions and they offer more scholarships to freshman

yeah I got only $4k for case scholarship so if I don’t get more aid, i’d probably graduate with a six-figure student loan debt…

where can I view my committment deadline? it’s supposed to be on the acceptance letter, but I can’t find it

I just want everyone that’s waiting to know their decision that not having a Transfer Credit report showing all your credits from your previous institution is not a sign of rejection. I was accepted without it, and I’m still waiting on my credits to show.

yesterday I was accepted for sports management! anyone else? also i couldn’t see my transfer report before and i just got an email that my portal was updated if that helps anyone out!

Yes, I committed a few weeks ago!

@georgej34 It’s 14 days from the day you were accepted.

@georgej34 if you were accepted yesterday you probably have a one week deadline. Most people had this deadline initially (including me), read your acceptance letter thoroughly and you’ll see it mentions it on there. I couldn’t find it at first either

In my acceptance letter, it states 1 week to accept the offer. On the website for the next steps for admitted students, it states 2 weeks to accept the offer.

I emailed the admissions office and they said that they can only grant extensions for a couple of days… does this sound right?

who here on this thread is applying to stern? maybe we can make a WhatsApp chat?

if anyone is interested write your number and I will add you

are there any groups for accepted students besides the facebook?

who do we email to request an extension?

is there a group chat for admitted students?

I truly feel like NYU is like a guy that stood me up again… LOL shoot me now, please

After being accepted to both NYU and Umich Im wondering if NYU is worth it. After financial aid NYU would be around $60k and Michigan would be around $10k. Any Advice?

My family makes less than 100,000 a year and I was only offered work-study worth ($1500) and very little in loans…
To make things worse for my program (MCC) requires me to do my first year in Paris (Do they even offer work-study to study abroad students?!)
Really hoping I get into USC because this is not even an option for me.
I don’t care if its ‘NYU’ it’s not worth six-figure student loan debt.

Hey everyone!

I know that I am crazy late on this (this is my first ever post on this site) but I am a second-year applicant to NYU Tisch Film/TV and I just wanted to put my info into the equation to get some feedback.

  • I'm transferring from another urban private top ten film school mostly due to the social scene (or lack thereof) and I'm not doing well mentally being in my dorm or the library all the time. -Waitlisted last year ED I for Tisch Film/TV
  • College GPA: 3.8 (Fall: 3.65; Spring: 4.0); High school: W3.95/UW3.66 (Large North Carolina Public)

Notable EC’s:
-Five summers of Stanford Pre-Collegiate for film, design, etc. (GPA: 4.0)
-Yearbook Editor-in-Chief
-Photography Club president
-Part-founder and officer of high school’s Humanitarian Club (2+ years of volunteering)
-On-and-off photo/video internship for a high-end car dealership in Manhattan for years
-Dean’s List
-Only a member position in college’s top film club

Very good essays/videos (I believe they are at least hahah)
Very good recommendations as well – one letter is from an NYU Graduate

I turned in my application on March 30th and have yet to see any application changes in any area mentioned on this forum, however tonight I did notice my Zoom account change from “Member” to “Member - Alumni” (which is what made me want to post this). I know this could mean nothing but I thought it was interesting as I have not seen anyone mention an “- alumni” attribution.

I’d like to get some feedback from those already accepted on where I might stand as I am so nervous with it being my second time applying – good luck to those still waiting to hear back!

@alwaysapplying

Hi!!
I was admitted into a different major but I believe the best indicator as to when you would be hearing back is when your application checklist disappears. Most people, including me, on this thread heard back about 2 weeks after their checklist is removed.
Other things to note is that I applied back in February and my financial aid checklist is still up.
